Reception here has never been good...

When I first purchased my phone I was getting very good reception but in the last two months I have had little or no reception at all. Even if I go out in my front yard or back yard.

Terrible coverage, phone is constantly searching for a signal and gets at most 1 or 2 bars then loses coverage soon after. Have to go outside to make or receive calls.

Many dropped calls. Many calls go straight to voice mail, sometimes taking as many as three days to show up on the phone. Calls from outside Anchorage are dropped or never get through. Numerous calls to AT&T and no positive results. Poor phone service, extremely poor customer service. But they never fail to remind me that I am eligible for an upgrade... not going to happen.

Travel for work and seem to get reception everywhere since the buy out of cellone

Really bad coverage even though AT& T coverage map shows solid.

In the middle of town, Lake Otis and Dowling, I have horrible reception. The phone signal is weak and calls drop constantly. I believe it is either the lack of towers or presence of an abandonded radio station across the street. Either way, I don't enjoy having my call dropped 6 times when trying to call my family in one evening. But, what are we going to do?

Got to alaska in mid- Aug. My reception was better than ACS, Cell 1, and Ak Digital in Anchorage and the Valley for about 2 months, then I had numerous troubles ( missed calls, dropped, wierd listed #,poor receiption, 2-5 sec delays). recieving which led to out-going problems.5-9 Attempts to fix made (weekly?). Tekkies stated it was a problem with the borrowed towers (roaming) from Dobson? and DLS?( Wireless monopoly?). Custmer service very helpful. Released from Contract. Now looks like I'm forced to pay double for 1 / 2 the service and reported poor reception with one of the local companies. Wish Cingular was here for more than vacation time.

To all you Cingular customers, hope you all enjoyed the fun while it lasted. I switched my service from Sprint to Cingular since I could not use the data service on the phone. I haven't had any problems with Cingular until my phone stated showing crazy numbers on the caller ID. when I finally spoke to customer service at Cingular I was informed of the bad news. although, now the phone states off network, I am still able to perform all the service on the phone. However I am switching to Verizon and going paper less and listing my address in the lower 48.

My calls drop all the time. Now my phone says "Off Network." I talked to Cingular and they said they are going to cancel my service because it isn't allowed now. They were great, but now that I live here, I will have to switch.

Again roaming off Cell One using Cingular. GSM network seems fine.

Also no problem in 15th and LakeOtis area

Was told Cingular had very little coverage but I would be able to place calls now Im stuck with a phone that I never get a signal. I need a new cell company.

depending where you are in town. I get dropped a lot for no reason, best reception seems to be in south anchorage near diamond and east side near bragaw and muldoon

My AT&T GSM phone works here.. but it's spotty at best. I wish the providers in this state would catch up on the GSM coverage.

AT&T GSM Phones do not work in Alaska. I don't know who the other AT&T GSM phone user was talking to other than a person sitting beside of him or her.

Great reception in Homer and Seward, and perfect in Ancharage.

Didn't work under AT&T. Cellular One didn't add any towers near me and fix it. Now with Cellular One's GSM service I was hoping that signal quality would be better. Nope. I can't take advantage of any night and weekend minutes because I can't use my phone at my house.
