I added a car antannae and get reception to 11 mile Tok CutOff when heading north out to theVillage. Then again-reception at MP 19, 20. I'm local so I have little fuss with my service. I bought the phone and buy and use minutes as needed. I used to be with Verizon wireless. Got the phone in Idaho with Nationwide as Local call plan. Loved the service. Especially when I traveled to Outside for various conferences and meets. But even then with my former Verizon service, I just got coverage in Fairbanks and in Anchorage. Though once, with the Verizon service. In Fairbanks I responded to Domestic disturbance call when OFF duty (I'm LEO) and got no response. So far, I haven't had to call 911 with my cellular one service. If you can afford it, get a satellite phone and buy phone card minutes. My village won't get the phone cards, Just pays $100 mo for maintenance on the Sat phone and $4 a min when I do call with the Sat phone.
