I live in Sandhurst just south of Hobb Road. Coverage in my house is nearly non-existent. Things are not much better outside either. Have several friends and family who also live in the same general area, and they report the same problems.

Service is terrible here. Maybe 1 or 2 bars outside on a good day. Usually 0 bars in house. Bought a two year plan before moving here from Dallas, where the reception was always good, everywhere. Should've waited and signed up with Verizon. Oh well, 12 more month and we'll join the Ex-att ranks, unless they get their problems fixed. Can't afford $150 a month for sometime service.

Have had horrible coverage for over a month. Significant delay time before calls start ringing the majority of the time. Coverage very spotty, frequently drop calls. Took to store, they said Sim card and replaced. No relief. Same thing happens with other AT&t phones next to mine. Store reps denied any significant problems with network. I insisted on help, they said call customer service. Customer service admitted issue with towers, said new towers being added (should have been working properly a week ago but still same issues). They did credit me with acceptable financial compensation (assuming the issues were resolved a week ago). Giving them a few more days before I give up and just buy contract out. They will lose significantly in the long run.

The bad signal in this area is temporary because of the April 27 tornados messed up one of the towers in the area resulting of it being offline due to repairs.

Sprint is crap. I love my phone but miss T-Mobile service. Springs signal is only good if your in town or near a highway and their data connection is slow as any I've seen. Most of the time I am roaming unless I am in town and then I still only have a bar or three at most. Hope their 4g comes sooner than later. Verizon opened LTE this week and I'm tired of hearing about it

I live between Redstone Arsenal west side and the Huntsville airport. Reception is awesomely great. However, when I lived close to University of Alabama Huntsville just northeast of Hwy. 72 and Sparkman reception was much poorer. I talked to one of the Sprint employees in the Madison mall store and they said that 4G was already being tested in Huntsville. If 4G comes, Sprint will be the best since it has no limits. ATT has a 2G limit, Verizon has a 5G limit. I use Netflix and the limit matters.

The network is extremely reliable. But the contracts are pricey. I want to try Boost. But I don't know how good the Sprint / Nextel Network is. AndI don't know if I could live without such a reliable network.

During this latest power outage I had zero coverage with T-Mobile. My landline POTS AT&T phone at home also lost power. What is the purpose of having POTS if they don't use UPS to keep the system up? I went to WalMart asked several folks in store if they had cell coverage. All the Verizon folks had like 4 bars. AT&T said maybe a bar and spotty signal at best. T-Mobile- nada. So I bought a cheap prepaid Verizon-and charged in WalMart parking lot. Reception was better than my POTS ever was. Looks like several Verizon phones in the near future and goodbye to the landline and T_Mobile.

My wife and I moved to Huntsville, AL from Oklahoma where we had excellent AT&T coverage (voice and data). The AT&T coverage and data here is terrible. I wish that I had waited on buying my Captivate and now I'm stuck for the next 2 years with this terrible coverage before I can switch providers.

Recently switched to Verizon this month, and I am very happy with my service! Coming from AT&T, I love the 3G on Verizon. I have no found a dead zone yet, and data speeds are great. My advice is if you need a new network or are looking around, give Verizon a look. They are great, even in rural areas!

I bought an iPhone 4 for my wife last week and therefore had to purchase att&t service. I'm very unimpressed with att&t reception. Although, I realize the iPhone has a well known problem with reception, I can't believe anyone would keep one if their experience was as bad as ours. At home, at work on RSA, and many other places in Huntsville, we are unable to keep a call going for more than 30 seconds. The phone is going back this week and I'm canceling the att&t service.

I seldom ever have dropped calls. Although, I only get 2-3 bars at home, my call quality and reliability are very strong. I do drop calls for an instant on Memorial Pkwy. south of i565 and on the Hampton Cove side of Cecil B. Ashburn, but reception immediately returns.

Back in the day, Sprint's service was horrible, but I have to admit, after leaving them and coming back (left:2001 came back:2007), they have REALLY improved their service. I admit, I don't get coverage EVERYWHERE, but who does? I get great signal especially for the extremely cheap rates that I pay. I love the service and don't want to switch. Any time I have an issue-they're right there to help. I love having service with them and I get great coverage-wouldn't trade it!

ATT useless, cannot connect at home, drops calls, failed calls. It never ever works at home, I am changing soon. I am fed up with it, I had 5 bars in Denver and could not make a call, it wold try forever and drop. Useless, utterly useless.

I've had a cell phone since they were in they beginning stages, first with Bell South, then it became Cingular, then it became AT&T. I'm have a problem with dropped calls in my house no signal or one bar in my house and one bar in my yard. I live between two towers which are both less than a mile away from me. I pay for four phones on my contract and am responsible for 7 phones that family and friends have signed up for with AT&T through the years that they still have. My phone will get four bars in the middle of nowhere in a pine thicket in central western Alabama, but can't get reception in my yard or home long enough to keep a conversation going. My daughter called about a problem with her phone and also asked about my reception. The agent she talked to let the secret of red towers (down for service) and yellow towers (being repaired) out of the bag. I called AT&T and they have a "what's the problem / so what" attitude and offered to sell me a $149 booster to use with my cable internet. I've had cell phones with this cameleon of a company for 12+ years and until AT&T took over they worked fine. Enough is enough. I'm probably going to switch to Verizon as my daughter and son-in-law want. If I go that means they will loose at least 11 phones. AT&T has gotten to big for their britches. If you want to get hot, call AT&T service and try to get something done.
