Reception, if you get any, tends to be poor throughout the base.

Over the past 3 Years Nextel reception has gotten considerably better. As of now Verizon and Nextel probably have the best coverage, followed by T-Mobile, then Cingular, then Sprint.

Had good reception with AT&T. However, ever since AT&T merged with Cingular, reception and call quality have been poor --- dropped calls, bad reception, etc.

I have to walk into my dining room to get two bars (that do not go away if I move the phone around) to talk. I can get 3-4 bars in other rooms but they disappear as soon as I move the phone. I get 2-3 bars if I walk outside and up to the mailbox. Does anyone know of a Cingular phone that gets GREAT reception?

I live in the Colonial Grand Apartments. Spirnt is very, very poor. Every Sprint call has to be made outdoors and they drop very often. I am switching to another company even before my contract runs out.

Excellent signal at this particular location and most of HSV. I know each cell carrier has it's advantages and disadvantages. If you want to get excellent customer service and superb signal through T-mobile, then having that cell provider is Highly recommened!

I changed from Corr Wireless to T-Mobile because Corr had no signal at my home in NE Hsv and poor signal in most places in Hsv. My T-Mobile signal is full bars most places in Huntsville. I went from Corr's Endless Minutes plan with no signal (so it was unusable) at $50 / month to T-Mobile's 1500 minutes a month for $40 / month. I am so happy with my signal strength now. What good is unlimited time when you have *no* signal strength? BTW, I work next to the Credit Union on Wynn Dr.and have full bars everywhere in my building. With Corr I had to go to the windows facing the Credit Union (or go outside) to be able to talk reliably. 12 / 30 / 2005

Phone is generally unusable in the residence unless on the second floor. Cingular needed to commit to providing more tower resources sooner when they decided to make the transition to GSM. I can't drop my landline due to this, which is why I switching vendors. (Southview Dr.)

I don't know if it is the phone or the phone company. Had better than average reception in Houston (my home area) but the reception in Huntsville, Alabama is poor all over the city on the Cingular network.

Surprisingly poor reception (often, none at all) on Monte Sano Mountain near the southern intersection of Monte Sano Blvd. and Panorama Drive. Reception is generally non-existent along the portion of Monte Sano Blvd. between Panorama Dr.and Governor's Drive.

The reception in my apartment is miserable. It was slightly better with my old Nokia 6225. Sprint is generally bad in the Huntsville / Madison area unless you are on a major road or highway. Don't turn off that road though, otherwise your calls will drop!

Overall good service with Nextel in my area, for some reason when I go into a certain wal-mart service drops almost to nothing, however when I go into all of the other wal marts and sams club, phone has full service. I have been told the roofs at some of the older wal-marts block out cell phone service.

Great reception in my house unless I'm next to the computer; solid reception around town. The great thing about Nextel is that once you get service, you tend to keep it, and 1 bar calls sound just as clear and good as 4 bar calls. Only location with spotty reception is one of the local wal-marts due to the construction of the roof. This reception problem does not happen in any other wal-mart.

T-Mobile by far is the best carrier. It's only low in one area where I live but everywhere else is great. If you're getting a new carrier then I recommend you get T-Mobile. It the best I've had so far.
