I459 Around Liberty Park, Moody, AL 35004 |

With my Nextel I always lose reception around Liberty Park on I459. The same thing happens on I20 between the Leeds exits. In Europe, all the cell phone companies use the exact same network. Therefore you are never without signal... .even in a tunnel (one type of network so they run lines). I wish we had that here in the states.

I have used every service out there (no joking). Verizon is by far the best overall celluar provider. Remember, it is important to test any cell phone to see what works best for you. Different companies will have different service due to tower locations. Verizon is a little more pricey but the voice quality and building penetration is superior. It is a know fact that Cingular is over sold in the Birmingham area and the system can not handle the work load. Also, GSM technology (T-Mobile, Cingular) struggles to provide decent service in hilly areas such as Birmingham. This info should help in your decision to purchase future cell service.

I read in the St. Clair County Times that Moody had approved a new cell tower to be installed by Nextel. Well, they must have it installed a working. I get perfect service inside of my house. I also get very good service inside of a large office building downtown Birmingham. I have to admitt that I was skeptical of Nextel going into a new contrat. I have been nothing but please with the service.
