Cingular has been putting up new GSM towers in the area. I just switched from Motorola v60 to V400 two months ago, and all of the 'dead spots' have disappeared. I work on south side of town, and life on east side, so encountered quite a few on the drive home; as well as my living room being very poor. Now all areas give excellent reception. I recommend going to GSM when you can for the increased coverage.

I have lost 3 calls within 2 hours today. The reception has gotten so bad, all the time in Arkansas, I am about ready to start using only my cell phone for emergencys and go back to using land line for conversations and business calls. My phone is less than 1 year, and was told by cingular I need a new phone because my phone is out of date for all the new available plans, which will allow better coverage and reception. I still have 1 year on my contract before I could even consider upgrading!
