Used to have great coverage on the Nokia 6340i GAIT phone which shared towers with other providers. Now with the Nokia 6010 GSM there is little or no coverage in the Hope area.

Anyone who claims Hope, Arkansas has cell phone service is a LIAR. The systems are twenty years old and are insufficient to handle traffic on I-30, much less from local residents. Once you get two miles north of I-30, you might as well forget being able to call 911 when you are in a near fatal traffic accident and need an ambulance, because there is NO coverage. Coverage also runs out south at the city limits. To PRETEND that Hope has cell phone service is a CRUEL JOKE on the suckers who are sold the cell phones on two year plans. You will DIE before they build a new tower in Hempstead county, as there are NO NEW TOWERS on the carrier's 5 year plan. There is NO cable tv outside the city limits and no open wi-fi or wi-max service either. If you are stupid enough to move here you are definitely a Neanderthal. This is the ARMPIT of the country. You can't even buy a BEER in this county either. Maybe the that illustrates the intelligence of the local powers here who are anti-beer, anti-tower and anti-everything. There isn't even a daily paper, and the only local rag doesn't even have a letters to the editor section (maybe the local's can't read or write either, so they aren't aware that the world passed them by.

ATT cell service degrades to nothing once you get from 2 to 5 miles away from Interstate 30. They apparently have NO plans to upgrade service or install more towers to serve the area around the Hope, AR airport and industrial area and the city of Oakhaven, AR. Service is also horrible south of I-30 and degrades at the Hope city limits. There is NO high speed wireless internet offered via ATT in this area.
