For anyone in the Diamond Head area and all surrounding areas I work for a company in Hot Springs that deals with all 3 major carriers and I can tell you that switching companies is not going to change your service for the fact that if your not in range of a tower its no use to try any other service. Oh and for all those who think straight talk is the answer think about this. Straight talk is owned by Tracfone. Tracfone has a service usage agreement with both ATT and Verizon. You can tell which service your phone works with by looking to see if you have a sim card. If you do then you are on ATT which is a GSM network. If you dont have a sim then you are on Verizon which is CDMA. Those are the only two companies that Tracfone supports so when someone on Verizon or ATT are saying they are switching to Straight talk becuase it works better your still on the same network so its just pointless but hey do as you need just thought id help you save some time.

July 2011: Although I receive excellent reception at home in Hot Springs, Arkansas, on a recent trip west along I40, after Oklahoma City receptions was poor at best. In NM only reception was in major cities. Experienced many dropped calls, but mostly no signal at all. from 1997 to 2008 (Verizon / Alltel merger) I had Alltel and excellent coverage all long I-40 and even on remote NM state highways and small towns. With Alltel I had very good signal strength in Ft Sumner, and even at Lake Sumner. Not so with Verizon. With Alltel only a couple of dead spots between Portalas and Roswell. Now looking for a wireless provider that has better coverage area, but the reviews here are not encouraging for AT&T, or any of the others.
