In addition to my previous comment (taking a lot to lose signal)... Direct Connect aka Walkie Talkie feature works from Bullhead City, AZ (and Corpus Christi, TX) all the way to Santa Cruz, CA. THAT says a lot. FBI uses Nextel, which is why I have had it forever. Most agencies do, as Nextel is the 1st back online. So that all legal departments / agencies can get on, and coordinate rescue plans, and such.

Nextel takes a lot to lose signal. Only time, is one house in Fort Mohave-but everyone, with any server, has problems in that house. I think it is made of lead. I have been all over the United States since 1998, when I 1st started with Nextel. Now Sprint owns it, but can not touch it... It HAS to stay Nextel. It is the 1st cellular service to go back online, after any complications. I reside in CA, and any natural disaster... . Nextel is up and running quickly.

Had Cell-one for many years with no problems till AT&T took them over. Switched to Nextel and could not be happier. Never a dropped call and the Walkie -Talkie works flawlessly. My wife drove to Camp Verde to her brothers house and we could talk anywhere along her trip. Actually we use the walkie-talkie more that we use the minutes. I would highly recommend Nextel because of the reception is great.. AZBirddog

I have lived here for 9 years now and I would have to say Sprint and AT&T have the best service in this town as far as phone service goes Sprint is the best in this area. As for internet service seems like AT&T is the best so pick the phone company that best suits you phone or internet service. As for the other phone company's out here in mohave county the rest suck for service Verizon has to be the worst and Nextel is the same as Sprint now so should be great service.

just signed up with Alltel because AT&T constantly dropped calls..well, they are better than Alltel as far as reception and dropped calls. I was informed that Verizon is taking over alltel, I hope that improves reception but don't know.. I am going back to At&t, it's not the greatest but everything I've tried in the bullhead area isn't any good.

Horrible service, hasn't improved since AT&T took over from Cellular One. I can sit on my couch and watch the bars drop to nothing. Usually, I have to go outside to use my phone, and even then it depends on where I am in town. Messages show up when they feel like it (if at all). My contract is almost up, but apparently nobody has good service in this town, so maybe I'll go without.

going up mccormick you'll get decent service. once you enter your home the quality will drop. calls wont come thru at times [ppl will call me and say they've called me 4 times and my phone has only rang once] everywhere else it's pretty decent. I can txt from most places with a bar or two. id say average anywhere in the bhc area but below average up on mccormick.

From my house, I can look and see the Verizon cell on the Laughlin side of the river. But because I am about 4 miles from those sites, still getting 4 and 5 Verizon digital bars, I get flipped over to Citizens Mohave Cellulars roaming; thats where the trouble starts. I can get their digital or analog coverage and often the system can't make up its mind and won't allow me to make a call at all. In this area Sprint kicks butt, and it's embarrassing to have a Sprint customer sitting next to me calling my phone, and Citizens won't let the call through. Messages on Citizens system are constantly 2 hours late or more. I suspect I don't get any at all. Verizon is excellent on I-40, all the way to the Outer Bank islands of North Carolina, and in Phoenix, Tucson, and Vegas, it's excellent. Their customer service is top notch. I just wish I could roam on Sprint. The funny thing... whose a 1 / 3 owner of Citizens Mohave Cellular?... ..Verizon!

I work at WARMC hospital and live about 2 blocks away near Maverick and I seem to never have service! It really irritates me that I am paying over $100 / month for a phone I can't use! Are we really going to have to resort to going back to land lines?
