Verizon at least has some coverage. Covcerage in the greater Prescott area is just acceptable with 3G phones... most of the time. The most 'bars' I get is 3. Around my home I normally get only 2 bars. As of 3-18-12 there is no date as to when Verizaon LTE will be available in the the TriCity area. So, unless you plan to spend a lot of time in the greater Phoenix / Scottsdale or Tucson area don't waste your money on a more expensive LTE phone. Also, check out battery time when buying any 'smartphone'. Most Smartphones have short battery life. Smartphones with only a 1700 - 1850 mAh battery will not give you much use before it needs to be recharged. The bloatware (apps) that Verzion stuffs into their phones - which you can't remove without rooting your phone - is a significant contributer to battery drain. However, other carriers do the same thing. My best guess of when Verizon will make LTE available for the Tri-city area might be late 2013. And, I don't expect LTE to be any better when it comes to overall coverage. Yes, you'll get faster speeds with LTE, but only if you can get enough bars (signal strength).

Get lousy reception in Chino Valley, didn't get much better in Prescott. HOWEVER, when I attempted to switch to TracFone, I got NO reception whatsoever EXCEPT when dialing 411 which ATE UP all prepaid minutes by advertising for WalMart! So, as much a POS as my T Mobile prepaid is, I'll stick with it as my minutes last a YEAR. (Besides, who is there to call in Chino any way?)
