This is the second year I've come to this area and had bad service. Have one bar. AT&T claims I'm in the middle of 3 towers. Ha! Had great signal at the phone center store where the rep took out my battery and then put it back in. Very slow internet over the mobile network and dropped calls even before it connects.

I always seem to get really good coverage anywhere I go. North Phoenix, Chandler, Scottsdale, West Phoenix, etc. Where I live, my data speeds (3g) average 3.6Mbps! That's after a total of 110+ speed tests (I'm a dork... I exported them to Excel to make sure)! It will regularly hit the high 4Mbps and low 5Mbps in off-peak times. I tried the Evo3D on Sprint and couldn't hit over 200kbps anywhere. My sister has an iPhone4 on Verizon, lives in my neighborhood, and can't get over 350kbps... anywhere she goes. I haven't tried AT&T. This is why I've stayed with T-mobile, though. Great service, great coverage and outstanding data speeds in the Phoenix area. On a side note, this website wouldn't let me put in my actual zip code of 85083.

Im lucky if I get one bar sometimes it says no service. AT&T is terrible

Virgin Mobile is very good if you're a person who doesn't really travel much. I have NEVER lost service in the Phoenix Metropolitan area with Virgin Mobile. Decent coverage, amazing prices. WAY TO GO VIRGIN MOBILE! :)

I have been complaining to T-Moblie for almost a year now. Most recent call into them in May 2010 they stated the same script they used for me in June 2009. "It's a known issue and we are working on it", 11 months later? Numberous dropped calls while talking. This time they say they are working on it. If you have T-MOBILE keep calling them monthly, talk to customer service, technicial service is the one that says it's a "known issue" repeatedly. C / S will or should compensate you depending on # of dropped calls.

I absolutely love Verizon Wireless. I've had phones through Sprint and Cingular and never been more happy with a cellular company's cell service or customer service as I have been with Verizon for these past few years!

Got out of ATT plan as they could not call me at home. It took four calls and a week but got someone to tell me I was in a "low bandwidth area" getting zero coverage. I had five phones and they let me out of the contract. I had ATT in Dallas and in the East and it was awesome... .they are not a bad company, just no coverage in my house.

Have had Verizon for 3 years in valley, great reception throughout. Rare dropped call.

In this area, most providers have poor signal, except for Nextel and Alltel. T-Mobile maps show a relatively good signal also. From experience of friends, no other provider has more than 2 bars around this area

You can't go wrong with Alltel. I have had them for 10 years and have never had a problem with dropped calls or bad reception. Calling from other states is a charm... ..I would never switch my service as long as Alltel is in business.

Lots of dropped calls, can't get reception in the house or in the driveway. Not bad on the highways but I spend most of my time around the areas that have no or little coverage. YMMV.

I get little to no reception in my own house. Verizon is aware of the lack of coverage and stated that they would waive our cancellation fee. I'm switching to T-Mobile now... wish me luck!

I have no reception in the house or even when I go outside. Service is terrible on this side of town.

I've had Alltel for about 6 years and never had a problem with my plan until these last two years. Alltel drops calls all the time. I have about one dropped call every other day or every few days. I like the detailed billing, I never have problems with payments but the constant dropped calls outweighs everything else. My contract is up today so I will be switching to another phone company.

Drops calls on a regular basis. No reception at 51st and Northern. As soon as contract runs out any other carrier will be selected

I've had flawless voice and data service for 1.3 years with T-Mobile. Reception varies between 2 and 5 bars in various parts of the house and time of day. It has been reliable enough to allow mobile service to replace my long-gone fixed line. Keeping the same phone number is a big plus. I couldn't be happier with my T-Mobile service in this area.

I find it necessary to go outside the house to be able to listen. The party receiving the call has a hard time hearing the conversation.

Usually 5 Bars... sometimes 4. At work I get 5 Bars... my co-workers with Sprint / Cingular / Verizon get 1 if at all. BUT at home I get 1-2 Bars... go figure.
