Trailer Village, South Rim, Grand Canyon, AZ, Grand Canyon, AZ 86023 |

The following is based on a stay of a little over a week. Coverage is spotty in the South Rim area. In Trailer Village I got 0-2 bars, and generally couldn't keep a connection. Voice coverage throughout much of the South Rim does have 1-2 bars (enough for a phone call), and is good in some places: The Grand Canyon Village area (near the Bright Angel Lodge) usually had 5 bars, as did Desert View at the east end of the park. Data coverage, however, is not 3G, but instead the older "E" coverage. In areas with better reception I could at times receive emails, but usually couldn't connect well enough to download things like a weather radar map (or even access my AT&T account). So based on my experience in the South Rim area, you likely will be able to make calls in some places, but don't plan on using any of the "smart" features of your phone.

Lost signal around Tusayan coming in from the South by 64. Did not have coverage upto Tuba City. Since it was getting dark, I decided to play it safe and return to Flagstaff. The phone sprung into life about 29 miles North of Flagstaff on 160. Was quite surprised to find zero signal in Grand Canyon Village (expected some coverage around the shopping, office and camp area)

Travelled from the outer edge of Flagstaff to Grand Canyon National Park and Reception was next to non-existent. I was travelling along Route 64 and there was no signal except for a few spots and it was only one bar if at all. This is not surprising as even Verizon doesn't work very well in these areas. So there may not be any choice for better coverage there. Throughout the entire Grand Canyon National Park AT&T did not work.
