Verizon
As a quick follow-up to my review below regarding my conversation with Verizon Corporate Representatives: AT&T reps told me they have 11 towers in Lake Havasu City. I've no idea how many towers Sprint has. However, because Verizon has no towers, and Verizon customers are always "roaming" on Mohave Cellular's towers, Verizon customers will never get 3G, let alone 4G, and will always be on the "Extended Network". Extended networks will rarely allow data through because of a priority issue. So reading through all of the Verizon reviews, every person is correct, no data, calls go straight to voice mail, etc., because Mohave Cellular is forced by the FCC to allow Verizon customers to piggyback off of their towers, but the Verizon customers are always at the mercy of the paying Mohave Cellular customers when the towers get congested. That being said, if you want out of your Verizon contract, I've just given you the ammunition to do so; Verizon MUST let you out with no cancellation fees. Period. Good luck. And I can't say great thing about AT&T, but they are significantly better than Verizon hands down.

Verizon
For all Verizon users; after months of battling with them when I moved to Lake Havasu City, after writing the CEO of Verizon, I finally uncovered the reason for the poor Verizon service. Mohave Cellular owns the territory. AT&T and Sprint were smart enough to pay money and purchase towers from Mohave Cellular. Verizon failed to purchase any towers. According to the Verizon corporate rep, there is some sort of beef between V and MC, and Verizon will never, ever be able to purchase towers from MC in Lake Havasu City. FCC regulations demand Mohave Cellular allow Verizon customers to roam on MC's towers. However, during heavy usage (like on big weekends in Havasu), Mohave Cellular's clients have priority over Verizon's roamers and the roamers literally get booted off of MC's towers. Hence, if you have Verizon, you will never, ever get good service in Lake Havasu City. That came straight from a Verizon Corporate Representative who chose to be honest with me and released me from my contract so I could move to AT&T.

AT&T
Best reception I have had in this area. I have yet to have a dropped call. And I have had others that drop my call less than a half mile away from the number that was called

Verizon
There is only roaming service here and it is very poor. My service drops multiple times and the 3G service is practically non-existent. I pay $150 a month for services that were great before I moved, but now are unacceptable. Unfortunately for me, the consumer, it's my own fault for getting a new job before reexamining my cell phone contracts which I would have still been in anyway.

I find it interesting in today's world with all of the technology that exists and when in Lake Havasu City, Arizona (which is also where I live) that most of the time I do not have any reception. I also find it comical that my phone keeps switching to "global" rather than CDMA because my phone also thinks that I am in a Third World Country when in fact I am in the United States!

Sprint
All too often when making a call or trying to text comes the warning that the network is either too busy or isn't responding. Calls are dropped and texts sent by me go to my recipent eight or ten times.

I have Consumer Cellular, I'm lucky to get 2 bars in downtown LHC. Every where else it's GREAT! I understand they use AT&T towers and that AT&T is building a new tower near Smoketree that will be shared by most of the providers, completion date is rumored to be November 2012.

This is the worst service. Dropped calls, one sided calls, static. No way I'm coming back to this town until the carriers upgrade service, towers, ect. No kidding, it is like being in a 3rd world country!'n

Verizon
Every holiday weekend in Lake Havasu, cell phone coverage becomes a 3rd world country. Phones do not ring, just get voice mail, or you cannot call out. Recording come in that Mohave cellular is roaming many times when you make a call. The Mohave Towers are overloaded. The coverage is poor, but when you go 3 miles across the river to a Verizon Wireless Cell tower, your back on home grounds. Everything is great again. Amazing that the City of Lake Havasu does not gear up to the real world of cell phones. There must be a political reason why Verizon, AT&T and other major carriers do not put a tower in this town. 4G network cards are a waste of money. Mohave advertises 3G, however I get 76KB speed. Old Dial up times... . Consumer beware of the 3 world country of cells phones exist in Lake Havasu City.

Company switching to Verizon. Service in LHC seems to be spotty. Dropped Calls. Static filled calls, and one-sided calls. Too many issues to simply push forward. Must resolve. understand we're probably using Mohave towers, but not getting the reception other people claim they get there.

Cellular One
Haven't had any problems with Cellone since I've been here. However I was thinking about switching to another provider simply because I don't like Cellone's plans.

Verizon
Reception was great. HOWEVER, Lake Havasu City is in the Extended Network and not a local network like Tucson or Phoenix. Because of that, many features of Verizon are not available (i.e. voice-guided GPS, updates, etc). I switched to iPhone and love it.

Verizon
Coverage is via Mohave Wireless 1x only. IF you are a Mohave customer, or an out of area Vz customer, you get a higher priority making calls than if you are a local#. In town coverage is spotty. Many times calls fail. Will probably abandon service, or switch to Mohave. No local store or service. Vz seems to have abandoned the 60,000 residents of Havasu. Sad. They were great in the northeast. Makes my brain hurt listening to "it's the network" when I call for service because I can't make calls, and that is more often than not.

Verizon
I KNOW there are no Verizon stores in Lake Havasu City, AZ, but we kept our phones and service when we moved from MI to LHC because: 1. Reception in Lake Havasu is terrific. 2. Verizon has the largest network and we our phones work great wherever we go in the USA, Thus, we are the ONLY Verizon users in LHCity that we know of, but they work great so why change?

AT&T
I love my iPhone. I hate AT&T. I miss Sprint which works great anywhere in Lake Havasu, AZ. Since iPhone uses Cellular One towers in Havasu, it sucks, dropped calls every other call. I had Sprint for 7 years prior to this ATT thing, and Sprint almost never dropped my calls. I'm torn as a Mac person to keep the great iPhone and continue to drop calls, or go back to inferior phones but a good carrier (Sprint). J. Williams

You can get at least half reception at all times and full reception within a 3 mile radius of a cell tower. Service is great and I have never had a dropped call. I seriously cant think of anyone who has or had a dropped call in Havasu but maybe its just their crappy cellphone or they way they hold it. Who knows but the reception is great.

Cellular One
Many posts don't provide complete picture - CellOne in the SW operates on 850 mhz so if you don't have a phone with this frequency you're not going to have a good reception. I tried their service in Lake Havasu with excellent Nokia 6620 and found coverage to be very good, where both Cingular and T-Mobile (850 mhz not yet implemented, operating only on weaker but faster 1900 mhz, and they don't know when the 850 comes to 864xx area) - have many indoor problems - because they are only 1900. I found one problem area in Lake Havasu for CellOne, and it was close to T-Mobile tower on Jamaica / Acoma... strictly 1900 I so far. Going down on Jamaica toward S Lake Havasu was the worst spot in town.
