This is absolutely ridiculous... I just moved into my complex and have between 0 and 1 bars of service in my place. I work less than a mile from my place, and of course I have decent service there. Not really sure what is the deal, but Sprint service is horrible. I can't be on a phonecall in my place without being on my patio in a specific corner. I just switched to Verizon today and am happy to pay the early termination for Sprint to get rid of their crappy service.

OMG, I don't know where to start. I have an airave as a bandaid for the reception issue I have *in my house*. As soon as I walk out to the parking lot, my reception drops to 0-2 bars, if I'm lucky. I have called Sprint about this issue probably 100 times in the last 3 years, and was treated very poorly and rudely by *everyone* with whom I spoke. "We'll have the engineers look into it". Well, the engineers "looked into it", and decided that it was much more convenient to eat donuts than to fix the issue. Called and spoke to a supervisor, Mensah, ironically enough (obviously not a member of the famed society). I was told that "well, sir, wireless communications is not perfect, and your agreement states that coverage is not guaranteed in all areas. Your only choice is to pay your early termination fees and switch to a different carrier." I was flabbergasted by this response. They flat-out refused to resolve the issue, or send an engineer to my home to witness the coverage issue. The kicker is this: the tower involved is on 32nd St.and Acoma (about 1 / 2 mile from my home)! The frustrating part is that I like every other aspect of Sprint's service, my phone, my plan and all. I'm just having problems RIGHT here in my home neighborhood. I can't call my wife from the grocery store next door to see if she needs eggs. I can't call my doctor from the Walgreens next door to straighten out mixups with my medications. Now, I don't anticipate living in my current residence for a lot longer, and I'm sure that once I move, the problem will no longer exist, but that doesn't do me any good right now. It is just frustrating that Sprint is completely unwilling to resolve this issue in our neighborhood. I see several complaints on this site from people in this neighborhood. One would think... .

Left area in April 2010. At the time, On St.coverage was okay if I was in open areas. But when inside a building, expected a drop within 60 seconds. The closest towers were one mile away to the south (downhill) and two miles away to the east. I had three bars of signal, but it was a trick. To try to stop some dropped calls carriers can increase power on the downlink from the tower to the phone, what the bars indicate. But the mobile only has a small battery. It is maxed out at a mile at most and after that its uplink signal degrades and drops.

Constant dropped calls very slow to load, sometimes doesn't load at all really sucks considering I pay nearly 200 a month for three phones and all three get bad reception called customer service numerous times to no avail. They really should invest in better towers I think I will go to Verizon now.

... in and around Fry's grocery... I thought Verizon was bad - would take 3 calls for a 2 minute conversation. Sprint is worse! I can't even place a call. Two Blackberries in store - 8530 and 9650 (Curve and Bold) and both had -114 dBm. Went out to parking lot to make call and the signal went down to -122! I've never seen such horrid numbers. At my house, which Sprint said was their best coverage area, I get about -102 dBm and marginal coverage. Had to get the Airave and even it has issues. Sprint can't provide what they brag about. I'm sick of hearing about "most reliable 3G" and now 4G - they can't get basic coverage anywhere I go.

Thats all what I have to say. thank you, and hopefully Sprint goes out of business

Used two types of Samsung phones: Sch 3500 and Sch 8500. For the last 10 years I have experienced good reception on both phones. I don't have a hard-line in my townhouse so I use my cell phone as my exclusive service. I haven't experienced any dropped calls or problems in any room in my town home or when in use through-out the valley. But perhaps because I use my phone less frequently and do not use the phone as a business phone my experience has been unique.

If you are thinking of getting Sprint and work at that large complex at 56th St. and Mayo, dare I say the name - AMEX ? then do not get Sprint. No one in our building can use their Sprint phones. The phone spends all day seaching for a tower and by 3 in the afternoon the battery is dead. Step outside and reception is clear as a bell. But what good is a cell phone if my family needs to reach me in an emergency and I am away from my desk if this phone does not ring or even let me know I have a voice message ? I am changing, I don't know to which company yet, they all give 14 day cancellation and I will use it to the fullest to get the company I like best.

I've lived in the same area of Ahwatukee for the past 10 years and I just recently moved down the street to an apartment complex and as odd as this may sound... I get okay reception while standing in my living room that's if I press the phone against the window, but if I walk to my bedroom, the signal fades and the call is dropped. Sometimes I need to stand on my balcony to get a signal. The brilliant customer service reps at Sprint tell me that this type of occurrence is common and that I should think about upgrading my phone. I've only had this one for about 6 months. Oh, and I just recently received a $1000 dollar invoice for calls that I did not make. 2 weeks and 10 hours of phone calls later, they made the necessary adjustments to my bill. My contract is up in March and I plan on porting my number over to another carrier. Good riddance Sprint.

Finally changed phones from the Sanyo SCP-4000 to the Sanyo SCP-4900 and made all the difference in the world. Rarely a dropped call and very good reception. The speakerphone works great as well on this model Sanyo. Signed for 2 more years but it's been well worth it so far.
