I never have problems with reception anywhere in Phoenix. Verizon is fantastic. ATT and Sprint have reception problems in our neighborhood.

Calls are dropped constantly. Verizon says our service area is marginal. The puzzling thing is that service used to be fine and has deteriorated over the last year. So we pay the same and get less. We now have an extender plugged into our cable which is Cox and will test to see if it makes Verizon more reliable in and around our house. So shouldn't Verizon pay our reimburse our Cox cable bill?

I like reading the comments on here because its amazing how ignorant people can be. No cell phone carrier can guarantee service within your home. They will not guarantee your service in an office, a warehouse or a mine. The structure of the building, placement of electrical units and building material all play a factor in this. Anyway, my Verizon service is perfect - always has been and always will be. I used to have T-Mobile and I wouldn't go back even if they paid me to use their service.

Switched from Sprint and couldn't be happier. I have the Hybrid PRL code that keeps me on Alltels network until they merge the two networks because I am closer to the Alltel tower. Love Verizon so far! :) Much better then Sprint.

All my friends with AT&T and Sprint has service issues. I did too with AT&T. I'm now with Verizon and could not be happier!

I've had decent Verizon coverage in most areas I've been in the Phoenix Valley. I rarely have a call drop. It works well at home, as well. I switched to Verizon from Sprint two years ago, because of the sporadic coverage and larger number of dropped calls I had with Sprint.

Horrible reception in or outside. Many dropped calls and little being done by Verizon to improve the service.

I have maybe 2 spots inside my house (standing on one leg with my other hand in the air) that I get reception and even going outside there are a limited number of spots. If I drive down the street maybe 200 yards, I'm back up to 4 bars. They're putting in one of the palm tree looking cell towers on the school grounds but how do I know if it will help me? Both my work phone and personal phone are through Verizon and I'm currently screwed.

The reception in my apt is nt very good. I have to move the phone around to get an evdo signal. However my wifes phone (Chocolate 8550) works great in here. Maybe its the phone but still should work.

I rarely have less than 4 bars in my home, at work, or anywhere around Phoenix. Dropped calls happen, but happen rarely. Verizon's customer service is helpful. If you go over your monthly minutes, and dropped calls are a problem, they will issue credit once they review your call log.

Been dying to try the IPhone or the HTC Touch, however 2 friends with ATT cannot use their phones at my house, so no IPhone for me. Sprint has the new HTC TOuch, but I had Sprint before... what a HASSLE, such spotty reception, they finally let me out of my contract without a fee. Verizon better wake up on the touch-flo phones though. People want the newest technology with good reception. For now, I guess I will wait to buy.

i do not like Verizons call plans, so I come on here to figure out who may be good, and it seems like the opinions vary so much that I will have to stick with Verizon as I have NO trouble getting a signal anywhere in the valley. I have traveled through CA and WI as well as all over the valley and have never had a signal or dropped call issue. I work inside office complexes and almost always get calls. sometimes it will go directly to voicemail, but I really have no complaints about the Verizon coverage, just the plans suck.

Frustrating, one maybe two bars on a good day. Lots of dropped calls. Nearest Verizon tower is at 7th St.and Greenway (next to the Verizon store of course), about a half mile from me, you'd think the reception would be better..

Great coverage, Just dial *228 every month to update for the new towers installed and never have had an issue, travel to flagstaff frequently and loose signal when in the mountains going to camp verde but there after have great signal, I love Verizon Wireless!

I live close to the Mountain Preserve and constantly drop calls in my house. My buddy a few homes down (brand new Samsung phone) has the same problem.

Dropped Calls, bad call quality and plain out no service sometimes in my apartment.

Off 44th St.No of Elliot, next to So Mountain preserve. Terrible Verizon reception. Drops every call. Used to be good here up to a year ago. Think it's because they've elimated analog backup. My wife's phone on Verizon - same. New phone on Verizon -- same. They ran a trouble ticket, tech said "yep, no service". They're letting me out of my contract. GREAT reception EVERYWHERE else -- Phoenix or nationally.

It is impossible to carry a conversation in this area.

Service is so poor we needed to get a land line for use at home.

8 of 10 calls will be dropped due to poor reception. Signal strength rises and falls to 0 constantly. Verizon Tech will not repair. They say there are no plans to fix this area

Good reception most of the time. Drops calls inside of buildings. My complaint is the billing cycle and the billing practices.You change anything with this company it is extra$$$$$. If you try to change something about the phone like the plan or the number on any day but the end of your cycle date, they charge you for each call previous to your change. They also change the end of your contract date if you change your plan. They add more months. So ask about this before you change your plan. They also add on a $10.00 Verizon surcharge for whatever fees each month. They charge for some toll free calls. I am looking for a new carrier. I am sick of paying so many extra charges when they advertised a certain price for a certain number of minutes. This is the only real complaint I have about this company, but it has lost my business today.

I've found Verizon to continually have the best service out there. Having driven several times across I-10 to and from the CA coast, even where most phones go dead in the vast desert areas, Verizon has some dead spots but not nearly as bad as other carriers. Recently my hubby drove to AZ from Indiana, during the entire 3 day trip there was only maybe 2-3 hrs (mostly in mountain areas) where he didn't have coverage.

I moved here from back east and Verizon seems to excellant coverage anywhere in Phoenix. It is so string that I have no problem with reception in most buildings.

9 out of 10 calls drop in this area if you are in any of the restraunts they are cell free it seems...

It's getting a lot better when I first got here in November my cell phone didn't get any signal and now I loose calls if I move around a lot but much better

Except for T-Bird between 7th St. and Cave Creek, I NEVER have a dropped or lost call outside of my house, including Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale, Peoria, Paradise Valley, etc. But in the house - 1 bar signal, or it goes into Analog, or I lose it all and hear my phone beeping for voice mail! I love Verizon.. I wish they'd improve the signal strength around here!

Great Reception around all of Phoenix. Got 5 bars of signal with Verizon while my Cingular phone had no signal at all.

I drive all over the Valley of the Sun and have never had a problem with reception.

Lived here 10 years hardly ever get signal in this area, doesn't matter which type of phone.

Verizon reception is excellent through most of Phoenix.

Living in an apartment complex... have two cell phones from 2 different providers and both have same poor reception problem. Cell coverage comes and goes, fades and comes back. Drops calls.

Outside the building I work 4 bars, inside it drops 1.

It works everywhere i've been (Utah, Califorina, Nevada, Mexico, Arizona, New Mexico, Idaho, etc..) but it doesn't work in my house ... oh well
