AT&T Wireless (GSM)
I am completely disappointed with AT&T / Cingular's reception in my area. Their coverage map is misleading, as it indicates that my area is fine (which is bad, because if they think my area is fine, then they'll never do anything about it). The reception is so poor that for text messages I always get the message "Unable to Send". Also, my reception oscillates between “Emergency Only” (i.e. no service) to two bars; two bars never last more than twenty seconds. Additionally, when I drive east from 48th Street on Elliot toward Rural - calls get dropped at least two or three times. If the calls do not get dropped, then the reception becomes garbled which requires me to hang up and re-connect.

T-Mobile
I have been with Voicestream / T-Mobile for a while. I have had moderate success with phone calls from home. But with the new BlackBerry, maybe one bar of signal strength. How can I be in the center of Phoenix and only have 1 bar of signal strength?

Sprint
I've lived in the same area of Ahwatukee for the past 10 years and I just recently moved down the street to an apartment complex and as odd as this may sound... I get okay reception while standing in my living room that's if I press the phone against the window, but if I walk to my bedroom, the signal fades and the call is dropped. Sometimes I need to stand on my balcony to get a signal. The brilliant customer service reps at Sprint tell me that this type of occurrence is common and that I should think about upgrading my phone. I've only had this one for about 6 months. Oh, and I just recently received a $1000 dollar invoice for calls that I did not make. 2 weeks and 10 hours of phone calls later, they made the necessary adjustments to my bill. My contract is up in March and I plan on porting my number over to another carrier. Good riddance Sprint.

AT&T
With a clear view to I-10 from my work, I could not get a call to complete. The one that I did get to complete to my wife, she could immediately know I wasn't calling her from my Verizon phone. She said I sounded garbled, like I was under water. Very let down by this experience. Get it together Cingular.

T-Mobile
Bought T-Mobile because it had the cheapest plan. Coverage sucks. I live in the heart of Phoenix and barely get 1 bar outside. In the house, no coverage whatsoever. My wife has a different phone but same plan. It's the same for her, so it's not the phone, it's the sucky service. I work on 59th and Peoria, it's the same poor reception there. There's a dead spot from about 59th Ave. to 35th Ave.

AT&T Wireless (TDMA)
I constantly get dropped calls. AT&T customer support is no help. I tried to get a supervisor and they won't put one on the phone. I tried to get one for over 2 hours yesterday. They won't honor their warranty. I have a phone that is 18 month's old and it is discontinued and they have nothing like it to replace it. AT&T sucks.

Sprint
I have used Sprint for many years and have suffered dropped calls frequently when calling from my home behind S. Mountain. Finally changed phones from the Sanyo SCP-4000 to the Sanyo SCP-4900 and made all the difference in the world. Rarely a dropped call and very good reception. The speakerphone works great as well on this model Sanyo. Signed for 2 more years but it's been well worth it so far.

I am wanting to buy a new phone soon that will work with an AT&T plan.

AT&T Wireless (GSM)
Phone shows SOS only. No rings on calls and no voice mail notification. This is at my house or outside. The service on AT&T for GSM in the 4 mile radius is awful.

T-Mobile
Reception fades in and out. I live on the 3rd floor of an apartment complex. T-Mobile is very weak.

This mall has horrible service for all carriers except T-Mobile. I have tried everyone.

I have a couple of cell phones and if the wind blows they all drop calls. The cell phone tower is one block away and the relay tower is four away so that should say it all. I will never use T-Mobile again.

GSM cover in Phoenix is horriable at best. I have a V600 top of the line phone and the GSM service. All I can tak is about 10 minutes and then the call drops. This is not just once or twice a month, but every single call. I'm going back to Alltell and my free phone from them, I never had any trouble at alll with them. Stay away from ATT GSM.

0-3 bars tops. This place was built like 50 years ago and probably has so much asbestos, brick, lead and who knows what else that signal doesn't even reach the interior courtyard.

Outside the building I work 4 bars, inside it drops 1.

AT&T Wireless (GSM)
Even at full signal strength, I get dropped calls. When placing calls, I heard .5-1 seconds of someone else's voice as the phone searches for a free channel. There is always static. Very nice looking phone, but call quality is subpar (even at full signal strenght).

Sometimes 1-2 bars most of the time and sometimes no bars.

ATT needs to get with the program and enhance its Phoenix GSM network, or customers will continue to migrate to providers such as Verizon.

I had Moto v66 and had many problems with reception, since I got the Nokia 7250i I have had no problems with reception.

Reall bad reception at our business address. Too bad these were for business phones. We'll be looking into cell number portability to get a better carrier.
