I didn't get a good reception with Cingular when they were merging with AT&T. As soon as I switched it to AT&T, I got clear receptions to make calls anywhere in the house.

I used to have T-Mobile for years and reception was great all over Phoenix, and had great customer service. Made the mistake of switching to Cingular a few months ago for PTT and their reception is bad-to-terrible all over town - even after trying 3 different phones, one Samsung and two Sony Ericcsons. We have 2 family plans with 8 people and all agree that Cingular is terrible so now we're trying to find a way out of the 2yr contract. Customer service is not as good with Cingular either - they are okay once you get through, but be prepared for some looooong hold times. I love my w810i phone, but hate Cingular's reception!

Cingular sucks everywhere in Phoenix. I lose calls constantly, and their support is bad. Verizon gets 5 bars where I'm getting 1 in Cingular. Their support is annoying, but not as bad as ATT, however with a phone who the support reps have repeatedly said was terrible, they've refused to replace the bad phone. Screw them, I'm moving over to Verizon with the E815. A real speakerphone and a good phone. Good. To. Go.

Reception with Alltel is great. My husband as AT&T / Cingular, and rarely gets reception when I have full reception (he's tried 3 different phones with AT&T). Whenever we travel, I will have great reception, and he will have NOTHING, nada, no bars at all. Sometimes I will not get reception inside the house, but it's the same for absolutely everyone who enters the house.

Never drop calls here at work, but I only get EDGE in the building (100k down). When I'm outside and get a 3G connection I get 1.5 to 2 meg down. I used to get 600-800k down, so they apparently rolled out their HSPA+ upgrade!

No coverage in our home at all. Yet Qwest won't let us out of our 2 year plan as "somewhere in Phoenix you have coverage". I think 2 year plans need to be outlawed along with if no coverage in your home - then you can get out of the plan free - no penalities. Why do these corporations think it is okay to steal our hard earned money? It's time we stop letting them screw us over - remember we pay the CEO's large salary when we buy their products!
