Verizon has the best service in Yavapai County. The only place it has issues is out toward Inscription Canyon, Some parts of Talking Rock, and some parts of Cross Roads Ranch. Other then that the service is great. I think every carrier has problems in those areas as of now. I am constantly on the road covering territory from Payson, Flagstaff, Pine Top, Prescott, and down as far as Tucson. I relly cant complain about Verizonas service. I have had Nextel, Sprint, and AT&T, and they dont even compare in covergae. The only thing bad about verizona is that their cell phones suck! They are made out of asian garbage! also their phones are all CDMA. Which means you can only use their phones with their network, and only buy their phones and use them on thier network. If they had GSM, you could buy any phone you wanted and just transfer your SIM card to each new phone. There are some many good cell phones out there, but you dnt get access to them because Verizon wont let you. You have to buy their shitty phones!

I had Sprint which I switched from Nextel. Sprint bought Nextel and I could switch for free. Slightly better than Nextel. But had regular areas that dropped calls. I would go to Chino Valley, Prescott Valley and Prescott daily and would drop calls in several areas on Hwy. 89, 89A and 1-69. Sprint coverage sucks. I switched to Verizon. Coverage is great in all areas except the far side of Williamson Valley. Best investment I made for my business. Joe

Lots of dropped calls. I switched to a RIM 7100, and it is even worse. Many places in north side of Prescott where there is minimal coverage. Numerous calls to Cingular (AT&T) have failed to resolve the situation.

I get all bars for reception... no dropped calls. Phone is 4 yrs old. I've had Verizon with little or no reception... also, Qwest which is not much better than Verizon. Sprint store in Prescott let's you borrow phone before you sign up to see if reception is good in your area.

WHITE SPAR / COPPER BASIN intersection, Prescott, AZ 86303 |
Wed Apr 26, 2006 |
This phone is marginal at best on White Spar Road, south of Copper Basin all the way to the outskirts of Phoenix via highway 89 / route 60, the reception is extremely poor to non-existant. In town in Prescott, Prescott Valley,Williamson Valley and Chino Valley the coverage is fair to midland. On the way to Phoenix coverage is virtually non-existant from Cordes Junction all the way to Black Canyon City via I-17.
