I started with Verizon service in 2000 -- after trying Cingular (ATT) and T-mobile. If not for Verizon, I would not own a cell phone. That is, I could not tolerate the other phones that I tried. I can honestly say that I've never more than 3 dropped calls (since year 2000). This includes travel to California and Vegas. I would like an Iphone but, based on my research, I think that I'll have to wait until Verizon 4G becomes available (2012 ?). That's when I think Apple and Verizon will unite.

Anything North of Happy Valley Rd, between Scottsdale Rd and Pima, coverage is just terrible. Other than maybe being able to send a txt message the phone is unuseable. I've tried about 10 phones from Verizon and all the same experience.

Verizon coverage in North Scottsdale is pathetic. They should be paying me. I get better coverage in more remote areas in other parts of the country. This is 2009 and I can't believe it's so bad. I've used 7 different phones and the coverage in this part of town is a disgrace.

No reception or signal indoors. Must stand in backyard, in one specific spot, face northeast, don't move and hold breath, can get a call... .maybe. Absolutely terrible. Average home price $1 mil +. Seems closer to power lines, worse the situation gets. Need a tower in this area.

To be honest, my cell phone reception is great everywhere except for where I live, Dynamite and 114th just past troon north or in it. My house has a basement and I hardly get reception in there, but everywhere else in the house is average, including ev-do service. My friends with T-Mobile and AT&T get service better than I do down in the basement. But I get great reception everywhere else outside of my house compared to them so I guess Verizon needs to step up in my area.

Let's see - Zip code 85255. One of the highest average income zip codes in the country. And Verizon can't get reception over ONE bar. I have to walk out in my backyard to even have a hope of carrying on a conversation. Frankly, it's pathetic.

My Verizon service in N Scottsdale (Mcdowell Mt Ranch and DC Ranch) is generally very good. However, we were in a temp apartment near 76th St. and Thompson Pk last summer (Grayhawk area) and it was spotty in the apartment. So there may be some dead spots too. Am checking the reviews to switch my family off of Qwest. After seeing all these negative reviews (man, didn't know I had it so good with Verizon!), I may have to think twice about this (Qwest is just pi&^%ing me off with their billing problems).

Very poor reception. Varies from no bars to two. Need proximity to land line in order to call back. Cannot believe with per capita cell usage in this area that Verizon does not have a tower. Contract will be up soon.

Barely any signal in or around our house. The Verizon customer "service" rep told me I am in a whole forest of cell phone towers (their words) and should have great reception. We can barely hold a phone conversation and most of the time we can't hear the other party (and vice-versa). Verizon support said there was nothing they could do and that it had to be some kind of interference near my house. They were however very carefull not to agree with me that switching service sounded like the only option (they did not give any others). My daughter's TMobile phone works perfectly in our house so I don't think it is interference. We are done with Verizon as soon as our contracts are up unless they are resolving the issue.

I almost NEVER drop calls with Verizon. In fact, my live in boyfriend left Sprint to join my plan because his reception with them was so bad. Someone told me a long time ago that the reason Verizon's reception is so good is because they pay other carries to piggy back on their network. If thats true then I'll gladly stay with them just to have good service. I even shut off my landline because I just didn't need it having quality reception on my cell. I also have excellent reception going to Sedona, Las Vegas and Mexico - we drive to these places several times a year. I do agree that the selection of phones just sucks and it feels like all the other carriers have the cool models. The disabling of BlueTooth is a joke too. If they could get real with those 2 issues I would recommend Verizon to others more often.

Approximately half the time calls cannot be made or received in our home. Calls go to voicemail without the phone ringing. When driving in the area, calls are frequently dropped. Other cell services seem to get it: put the antennas in places the city will allow, ie on power poles, etc. Come on, Verizon! I have to admit that Verizon is normally wonderful service... except at our home.

Pretty good reception. Occasionally a call or two will be dropped but nothing drastic. Would definately recommend Verizon Wireless to all b.c it has the best coverage nationwide out of all the major carriers. Never have I been in an area where I was not able to get some reception.

I have great service at my house in Scottsdale, never dropped a call. Also have a house in Show Low and get pretty good service there as well. However, the sales people at the stores (including the managers) are terrible. They are rude and in a hurry to tell you what you want to hear to get you out of their hair. Also, Whats up with the lame phones? I feel like Verizon gets all the leftovers from the companies with cool phones.
