Both Edge and 3G signal strength is generall poor and the strength varies wildly, from "No service" to 3 bars and back in a just a few seconds sometimes. When we tested witha Motorola RAZR 3 before switching, service was great. We had T-Moble for 7 years before but left because of service being horrible, dropped calls, missed calls. Friends with Verizon only show 1 to 2 bars here also. We are in the shadow of the CAP canal levee, not sure if that makes a difference or not as a we see towers on top of the McDowell mountains close to us. Trying a repeater / antenna to see if that will help - its expensive though - considering you are already paying for the service.

Found out after purchasing the iPhone that there's extremely spotty service at my house. This happened a year ago with Verizon and it was remedied, but we need AT&T to step it up now that lots of people have their service due to the iPhone.

Good reception at out house and in DC Ranch and Grayhawk area, a little spotty around ice rink and McDowell Mtn Ranch where we used to live. Much better reception than guests at our house who had AT&T or Verizon.

No reception or signal indoors. Must stand in backyard, in one specific spot, face northeast, don't move and hold breath, can get a call... .maybe. Absolutely terrible. Average home price $1 mil +. Seems closer to power lines, worse the situation gets. Need a tower in this area.

Extremely spotty reception in this area with all carriers, not just AT&T. Sometimes I'll get full reception, sometimes no service in the exact same location in my home. Driving through the intersection of 76th and Thompson Peak will cause a dropped call no matter what.
