Had to go outside of my home to get reception and even then I had to stand in one place or the call would be dropped. Do not recommend!

It is embarrassing how bad Cingular service (busness line) is from Pima north of the 101. I have little if no reception and when I do the quality is awful. My personal phone is a Samsung T629 on T-Mobile and in the same area is perfect.

My Verizon service in N Scottsdale (Mcdowell Mt Ranch and DC Ranch) is generally very good. However, we were in a temp apartment near 76th St. and Thompson Pk last summer (Grayhawk area) and it was spotty in the apartment. So there may be some dead spots too. Am checking the reviews to switch my family off of Qwest. After seeing all these negative reviews (man, didn't know I had it so good with Verizon!), I may have to think twice about this (Qwest is just pi&^%ing me off with their billing problems).

Business made me switch from T-Mobile which was generally excellent in Phoenix and Scottsdale to Cingular, which is clearly not as good. Seems like Cingular shows bars but then has trouble connecting or drops. I am in industry and think issue is capacity (Cingular gets very bad as rush hour, etc). Most of my friends in telco business generally think that Verizon and T-Mobile are best in Phoenix and Scottsdale and that Sprint is clear worst. As for the complaints in North Scottsdale (North of 101, this is largely a function of Scottsdale's unwillingness to allow towers. The GSM carriers (Cingular and T-Mobile) seem to do better (just added a tower at Pima near Princess) but it is very ad hoc -- try a phone at your house first. I have friends that have zero bars at home which sucks.

Reception at home is spotty at best. Signal fades and calls are missed. Travel in and out of area means dropped calls and switching from digital to roaming. Would not recommend. Bought phones at Radio Shack two years ago. Service there was a joke. Looking at other 85259 posts seems as if we're in a third world reception area.

Not so hot in the communities of Desert Mountain and Legend Traill. Spotty as you travel south on Pima and on the east west streets such as Lone Mountain and Dixileta...

Verizon reception on Eastern Side of Grayhawk seems really bad. No bars around my home. Used to have ATT and it never dropped. If you call Verizon, they just don't do anything.

Very poor reception. Varies from no bars to two. Need proximity to land line in order to call back. Cannot believe with per capita cell usage in this area that Verizon does not have a tower. Contract will be up soon.

Traveling east on Via Linda, reception drops between 120th St.and 136th St.on both Via Linda and Shea Blvd. Do not subscribe to Sprint if you live in this area, very poor reception and dropped calls are the norm.

Moved here from MN. where my "nationwide" calling was excellent 99.9% of the time. Now I cannot use my phone within a half mile of my house as there is no coverage. It took 22 calls and visits to T-Mobile to find out that "there is NO coverage where I am and there are no plans to provide coverage". I will be switching to Verizon soon.

I am on the "blue" (AT&T GSM) side of the singular network using a Nokia 6200... Depending on my foot-by-foot location I have three bars to no bars. I live east of the Pinnacle Peak and Pima intersection and I have only certian spots in my home that sustain intermittent reception. My wife has an Altel network (CDMA) subscription and a Motorola phone and she generally has much better coverage and less dropped calls thrpoughout the valley.
