I have lived in the Phoenix area for 16 years and always had Verizon and never dropped a call. I traveled to different cities in the US, go hiking and skiing and very seldom or never I had a problem with reception. My friends who have ATT or Spring or TMobil always had more problem that I do.

From a Razr to an enV to a Curve 8330 to a Storm and now a Tour, coverage and call quality has been superb in and around Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, and Scottsdale. The Tour gets 3G just about anywhere I've been. Dropped calls are a non issue.

Never have dropped a call and if I did I cant remember. Excellent call quality, excellent phones, excellent customer service, 6 out of 5 stars. I left for the iPhone but ended up paying the ETF and throwing my iPhone out the window, literally and going back to Verizon.

Horrible reception, if at all. Verizon said it was the phone. I have tried 3 different phones, all of them terrible. I am going to switch service providers.

I have Verizon and so does my sister. I have many friends in Milwaukee. I was doing some checking for a friend in Milw and she's having the same problem my sister and I have. We all have LG VX 6000 and 6100 lots of people in Phoenix and milw are saying they don't work at home. I read lots of comments here. The one thing my friends and family have in common is a Linksys wireless router. So i'm going to unplug my router and see if my reception changes. As an RF engineer I have seen examples of this with other types of RF equipment. Anybody else want to try and see if it makes a difference? Sometimes my cell will drop a call if open certain apps on my computer also. Expermentation time anybody? Resonant harmonics from a source with more power than a cell signal?

always dropped calls. I have to go outside and stand in the right place. I looked at a map of Verizon towers on google and theres a huge empty spot in west Tempe. just to the south towers are about a 1 / 4 mile apart. near 101 and university there are about a mile apart. The best network, least dropped calls? Right and I have a bridge for sale cheap!

Every single stinking game with the SUNS vs. LA me and my buddy both who have Verizon couldn't get a signal at either Native New Yorker on DOrsey and Broadway nor at McDuffys on 5th and Ash, near Mill. Yup its the network (crappy) allright. Not to mention that in Coconut Grove in Miami Florida, I couldn't get a signal at my Bro's pad. I stayed there for a little over a week and it is in the middle to south of Miami! Forget about your (crappy) network.

3 years with Verizon in Phoenix area, and only a handful of dropped calls. Remember... the systems that now go by the name of Verizon, and Alltel have the best coverage because they have been in place since 1985. The other carriers started service in 1994 or afterwards and they will probably never have the same level of coverage since the other 2 networks had a 10 year head-start on placing antennas all over town.

Read in an mostly unbiased magazine (everything is a little biased) about the coverage in the Phoenix area. It went like this... 1. Verizon 2. Alltell 3. T Mobil 4. Sprint / Nextel 5. Cingular. I had Cingular before and now I know why their coverage is so horrible. Haven't had any problems with Verizon thus far except for if you go east of the 101 (north / south) which is indian reservation. Even then you can still make / receive phone calls on an extended network. Compare coverage maps side by side, it's no comparison! I can vouch for that. As for coverage in Tempe, there is always coverage. Buy Verizon already.

CDMA seems to work well in our house. Cingular GSM does not work in our house. So far no connection problems with Verizon in one year of use.

Switched to Verizon and bought 5 phones for the family cuz everyone raved, but we get no reception if we stray 6 feet from my couch at the window. Had no reception problems with Alltel and TMobile. We have no home phone so this is a major problem - it will cause us to relocate. Oh yeah - Digitell told us that Verizon would let us out of our contract if we had poor reception at home. Not true. But not much of what they told us was.

Several of my friends an I have Verizon phones and live in the same general area. Our calls SE of McClintock and Southern are constantly being dropped at our houses. Hardly can keep a call inside nearby Target. We all called Verizon and they claimed to have went to the area and found no problems. Obviously they did not look hard because we drop calls almost every single time in that area, especially within our homes.

Phone drops calls all the time in this area. T-Mobile and AT&T (pre-merger) worked better, but I can't port my number to either one of them.

My parents had cell phones with verizon since they merged with a company in the southwest. They never once had a problem. In my early teens I joined the verizon family, and haven't had any problems. I've been with Verizon for nearly 4 years now, and I love the service. I had friends and family who were with ATT and Sprint, and their service sucked! Lots of dead spots, and dropped calls. Verizon customer service is among the best! They are very friendly and always there to help (they have even been nice to reverse some fees a few times for me). Most of my friends go with Verizon, and not once have they complained about Verizon. I love their service and wouldn't switch to another provider!

Four to five bars just about everywhere in Phoenix metro except when mountains cover line of sight but then that coverage is reduced to two to three bars.

I had ATT GSM for 2 entire years thanks to contracts. It never worked inside my apartment and had so many dead spots and dropped calls. Verizon always works, its practically perfect. Get Verizon or you'll be on this site complaining about some other carrier.
