We have 2 palm Cento phones in the household, it would be safe to say that 80% of our calls get dropped. Wish we could find a phone or service provider that worked better. My friend has Verizon and her phone doesn't work here either.
I've been with Verizon for about 5 years now, and despite my disappointment with their slowness to adopt newer, cutting edge phones, their reception is outstanding all around town. I seldom have problems placing a call, and calls almost never drop. I've enjoyed a similar experience in nearly every U.S. city to which I've travelled. I've had T-mobile, AT&T(just when they switched to GSM), and Sprint here in Tucson, and they were all poor in comparison. My friends who currently have AT&T (for their i-Phones) and Sprint frequently complain about poor service. I've really wanted to get an i-Phone, but just can't bear to leave Verizon's service. The i-Phone technology is so cool, but is pretty worthless in the end if you can't make a call or connect to the Net.
So far, I haven't had any real problems with AT&T, despite all the negative remarks I've read about their service. I don't know if I'm just using my phone in the 'wrong' (or right) places, but so far I get at least 4 bars, even in the car. I switched from Sprint, and the experience is night and day. I seldom had over 1 bar with that phone and service, often my calls would drop.
My phone works great with cricket I've been a customer for 2years now and have never had any problems. My calls hardly ever drop. I use my phone mostly for long distance calls. I recommend for anyone to try cricket with they're low cost plans you can't beat the price for the great service.
Calls are continually dropped in the evening, but in the morning on the weekends they are not dropped. I am told that I am in a 'Dead' area. I am only 5.5 miles from the 3 Points Cell Tower.
Sure, my phone got good service... sort of. Cricket phones are not the way to go. I've had to take my phone in twice to get it turned back on. No matter how many times I made a payment on my plan, my phone kept getting turned off. Cricket is a rip-off and their phones suck. Don't get one.
No bars inside first floor of house, get better coverage upstairs or in backyard standing by south wall. Talking on the phone while riding in our car is extremely hit or miss as well. Courier indicated it was the ups and downs of the landscape in Oro Valley.
They are so lame, I couldn't even get them to acknowledge that I even ordered the service, even with a confirmation and an order number. They jacked me around for about an hour on the phone, talking to at least 7 different employees then (after I was really worked up) the supervisor told me he was canceling my order and ended the phone call cause I was being rude!
