Get great reception in Garrigan's Gulch with Alltel. Had Cingular earlier and reception fluctuated a lot. I travel to the Sonoita area frequently, and there was no Cingular reception there at all.

I had A T mobile phone that dropped service at Rita rd, and the I 10. it didn't work at all, I would leave town to go to Alpine and when I returned I had 40 messages over 4 days. so when the service contract ended on that line, I swithed to the ONLY servie that works near my house which is Verizon. the first phone I had was an LG4400, it would get 1 bar in my house and 5 in my neighbors back yard (used to go to BBQ's there). So I looked up a new phone for hard to get reception areas on CR, and found the Samsung E-815. it gets 3 of 5 in the house and rarely drops calls here, and gets 5 of 5 in Alpine where I am building a house. I am pleased with the Verizon service I receive,a nd as I have had friends with other carriers I can tell you that AT&T, T-mobile, sprint, Cingular, Nextel and Cricket DO NOT work anywhere near this area.

After reading all the negatives about Cingular I had to respond. Most of the time in and around Tucson I have very good to perfect reception. In Vail (actually about 10 miles outside of Vail) it's pretty bad but we're a good 6 miles from the nearest tower. We had a coupld of Samsung phones that were almost useless, but after switching to the Razr we have had much better service. I can even use my phone almost everywhere in my house, which I could not do with the Samsung. All in all, I have nothing bad to say about Cingular and I have no idea why others are complaining about the service.

Inside my house or outside my house the reception is poor. Oddly, enough the best reception seems to be in my hallway. My hallway is in the center of my home with the peak of the roof directly overhead. The particular phone in use has an internal antennae, which I'm sure does not help. What little reception is available does seem to fluctuate with the weather. Any storm or heavy weather will shift or manipulate the best reception areas. I am currently looking for a better alternative, either better phone or service.

Spotty reception throughout house. Frequent dropped calls with supposedly fair signal. I guess that's what I get for moving to the middle of nowhere.

Brand new phone and I barely get 1 bar outside the house. This one is going back and I'll be trying a difference service.

Up in the Sycamore Canyon development reception is poor. If you're by a window it might work. Basically you need a land line. So much for the fancy phone features. Oh, since getting my iPhone and switching to AT&T I have had numerous dropped calls. Its either the phone which doesn't have an external antenna or its AT&T. In either case the iPhone is great but my reception is questionable.

Have a LG-325 / sprint and I need to walk outside to get ok reception. Reception inside is poor at best. Colossal Cave Rd.has a dead spot heading down the hill from the rail road tracks. Old Spanish Trail is not much better with many dead spots. Heard Verizon is better out here.

Old Spanish Trail has horrible reception on the entire length until you get to Camino Loma Alta going east and about Freeman Rd going west, at least on Cingular with my Motorola V-180 GSM (QUAD) phone. Maybe it's a GSM thing I don't remember having reception problems with my old Alltel phone. Also I notice that indoor reception in buildings is quite poor with GSM. I can't get a signal in Wal Mart, Home Depot or any large indoor facility other than right by the front of the store, again not sure if it's a GSM thing or possibly a problem with my phone. Reception in most other parts of Tucson is good to excellent.
