Samsung PM-A840 (SPH-A840)
Just South of Houghton / Sahaurita Intersection / Houghton, Vail, AZ 85641 Sun Sep 07, 2008

Inside my house or outside my house the reception is poor. Oddly, enough the best reception seems to be in my hallway. My hallway is in the center of my home with the peak of the roof directly overhead. The particular phone in use has an internal antennae, which I'm sure does not help. What little reception is available does seem to fluctuate with the weather. Any storm or heavy weather will shift or manipulate the best reception areas. I am currently looking for a better alternative, either better phone or service.

Spotty reception throughout house. Frequent dropped calls with supposedly fair signal. I guess that's what I get for moving to the middle of nowhere.

Brand new phone and I barely get 1 bar outside the house. This one is going back and I'll be trying a difference service.

Up in the Sycamore Canyon development reception is poor. If you're by a window it might work. Basically you need a land line. So much for the fancy phone features. Oh, since getting my iPhone and switching to AT&T I have had numerous dropped calls. Its either the phone which doesn't have an external antenna or its AT&T. In either case the iPhone is great but my reception is questionable.

Rancho Del Lago / Colossal Cave Rd., Vail, AZ 85641 Tue Jan 24, 2006

Have a LG-325 / sprint and I need to walk outside to get ok reception. Reception inside is poor at best. Colossal Cave Rd.has a dead spot heading down the hill from the rail road tracks. Old Spanish Trail is not much better with many dead spots. Heard Verizon is better out here.

Motorola V-180
Old Spanish Trail, Vail, AZ 85641 Thu Sep 08, 2005

Old Spanish Trail has horrible reception on the entire length until you get to Camino Loma Alta going east and about Freeman Rd going west, at least on Cingular with my Motorola V-180 GSM (QUAD) phone. Maybe it's a GSM thing I don't remember having reception problems with my old Alltel phone. Also I notice that indoor reception in buildings is quite poor with GSM. I can't get a signal in Wal Mart, Home Depot or any large indoor facility other than right by the front of the store, again not sure if it's a GSM thing or possibly a problem with my phone. Reception in most other parts of Tucson is good to excellent.

Am able to recieve only occasionally with the Motorola V300. No plans on T-mobile's part of improving coverage in that area as far as I can determine.

Depends on the time of day as to whether or not the phone will ring. It is impossible to retrieve any messages, hencing the land line that I have to have. I needed to call 911 but thank goodness I had a land line or I would have bled to death.
