At&t coverage map shows "Best" coverage in this area so I switched from Verizon 1 or 2 bars to AT&T to improve service. Got 0 bars in my house and a couple in my back yard. Spoke to AT&T rep who showed me two towers less than 3 miles from my home; one south and one north. Drove near the north tower and got a strong signal withing visual distance from tower; two miles down the road and signal was poor. Back home it was nonexistent. The Verizon tower is even farther away, but I still get reception with them. I guess its back to Verizon unless someone builds a tower in my backyard.

Tmobile as of this week has now lit up Waddell and Cortessa with full service and full 3G! It took them over a year but it is awesome. Five bars at 3G sitting on my couch!

AT&T has on several different occasions have told me that the coverage in our area is not the greatest but we should have no problems receiving and making calls... Thats just a bold face lie

There is only one location in our entire home where I get reception... other that this spot, the reception is non-existent. Terrible. The worst part is that on the T-Mobile website, you enter your zip and it tells you how well reception is in that area, and its all a lie

Rumor on the street is a new tower is coming online January 6, 2008

Nextel. Originally great. Horrible after merger with Sprint. On to Virgin. Horrible cheap phones. No service at home. Cancelled in a week or so. Cheap service and phones. Worth what you pay for. Back to Verizon (again) Initially, no better than Nextel at home. Better elsewhere. Recently, minor improvement from one bar in home office to 2. Less dropped calls. Switching to Alltel. Might as well run the gauntlet of providers.

Had Nextel service for 2.5 years. Had Verizon before, which was so bad, the phone was mostly useless at home. Nextel was initially excellent, but has degraded to the point of being virtually useless. Drops calls continually. Radio feature mostly useless anymore, as you have to keep reconnecting. Nextel rep promised improvement by this time this year. If anything, service is worse than ever.

I can't even make a call without driving a mile away from my house. I have bars-between 3-4 but it always says "emergency calls only".
