Very few problems with SPRINT in my neighborhood and in general. A few weeks ago, some issues connecting to internet. I unfortunately have to change carriers and it sounds like I'm going to be disappointed with AT&T.

In the last few days it has been very bas here. I work at south shore and today I could not even use my phone. What the hell is going on ?

Not just in Alameda but seems like the whole Bay Area! AT&T sucks! I am cancelling my contract with them next month and will never shop with them again if I can't help it. I don't get reception in my house, outside of my house or even a couple of houses up the street. I literally have to walk to the beach which I don't mind sometimes if it's not 25 degrees out but it's a drag to have to go so far just talk on your damn cell phone! I will not put up with this shit anymore with att. I'm tire of their poor service and expensive phone line! It's going to cost me now $235 to get out of their contract! They should be paying me that money to stay a customer and work out a way so I can get better service! The $235 will be the best money ever spent in order to get out of their contract.

Really really bad reception. Not just here in my apartment it doesn't even work at my work building in San Francisco.

Reception very spotty no access to the ev-do network I can only connect to 1xrtt in this part of alameda park st and san jose its like this for a couple blocks if it continues I will switch to another carrier HTC evo 4g Sprint

In and out conversation, more out than in. Finally had to use landline phone just to have a decent conversation. Cannot get dish network neither, sigh....

ATT in the same location with another BB was fine, no breakup - Sprint signal appears weaker in this specific spot, reception is spotty causing dropped words in conversation - Sprint is sending another phone, suspect it may be this phone - I will update if reception improves with the new phone, or leave this comment and just switch back to my previous carrier.

Upgraded from 2G Razor to Pantech 3G and there is no reception or if you wander outside you get 1 small bar... ..I thought 2G to 3G was suppose to be an upgrade NOT retro. The 2G Razor had 5 bars in the same location? WTH?

Verizon knows how bad their service is on Alameda. They said "it is a known trouble spot" so they offered to give me a $250 network extender or let me out of my contract without the early termination fee.

Having been a customer since Cellular One days, I've had pretty good reception with every cell phone with the exception of my new Apple iPhone 3G on ATT's network. A simple 3-4 minute call may require 2 call backs due to a dropped signal. This happens even talking on the phone from the second floor window with 2-3 bars. I'm going to report the poor reception to ATT.

Cell phone is very spotty in the house. Usually I can only get reception near the windows or on the second floor, and even then it is still poor as people complain that I am garbled.

Verizon reception has been fairly good for the last 6-years but over the last 3-days I've had little to no signal strength. Brought my phone to Verizon and it is okay. Wondering if there is a cell tower problem in the area.

Virtually no reception in house - none downstairs at all, and upstairs has gotten much worse. T-Mobile has great rates and spectacular customer service - and no roaming for me. BUT, at home and at work (near the beach / mall), I can't hardly make any calls. Text only. Text works great. Dash has bad volume features by the way. Also - carefulfor power surges - my battery got too hot and now only stays charged for about an hour. My boss talks on his phone all day - I plan to find out what HE has!

For my cell phone to work, I have to step outside of my house to receive and make calls. If I am inside of my house, my reception real bad.

Never a good signal on Harbor Bay. Frequent drops and constant "gerbling."

Drops calls regularly. Previously had Motorola V3xx. Other family phones (Motorola KRAZR) work fine with 5 bars. Go figure?

Reception is shoddy, comes and goes without me even moving. It will go from no service to three bars and then drop the call. I had Verizon last year and reception was equally bad (I suspect they share the same crappy tower). I also suspect that the majority of homes in this area have lead paint and this possibly degrades signals since Alameda just has horrible coverage all around. I guess the next thing to try is Sprint.
