I am sick and tired of paying Verizon for no cell at home My husband has an OLD... .. LG Phone with great reception... I even tried getting a refurbished one of his model... . no good... ! Didn't work either what does one have to do to get service from Verizon or some help... ... ... ... it's been years, and I am getting sick and tired of this! I don't want to pay extra for a booster, when I'm paying for an inoperable phone from home! Difficult to keep a call without dropping. AT&T says reception is good and not a problem on their end.

I love Sprint and generally have no trouble using it throughout the Los Angeles Area from Pasadena to the West Side or to the Valley. But when it comes to Altadena it very poor. Its been poor for years and unlike other carriers like Verizon or T-Mobile, Sprint can't or won't solve the problem.

AT&T service in Altadena is terrible. As you drive across Altadena there are many dead zones. Do not use AT&T if you live in Altadena.

Had Verizon and that dropped calls perpetually, voice mails didn't show up for days. Have AT&T now and at first it was OK (not great, but far better than Verizon). That lasted a couple of months and now it is almost as bad as Verizon was. Walk around the house - on the south side the reception is better, in desperation I move to the driveway or backyard, but that's not fantastic either.

Verizon: I have tried a good number of cell phones from Verizon... .. to no avail, this is the very first time I am having such a terrible time with reception at my house in Altadena, Cal. The strangest thing is: my husband has an OLDER phone from Verizon LG, I thinks it's a 5500 but nothing fancy... just a utility phone... Now why does that phone get great reception in our house, in Altadena just all over???? The new phones I tried have all failed... ... I am using my old Samsung which gives me a reading of good reception however people on the other end say I Can't hear ! Recently I returned a phone that was offered free except for taxes, it was considered an early upgrade... since returning it, I assume I still have that opportunity for a free upgrade. All incoming calls drop within 30 seconds of answering. Cannot make outgoing calls.

Almost always calls drop after I answer incoming calls within 30 seconds. Cannot place outgoing calls.

I used to live in Eagle Rock using Sprint with no problems. Moved to Altadena hills area, and it's known around the block that this area is a dead zone for phone reception. My landlord and roomate have Verizon, and receive spotty connection, but it's better than nothing. Sprint is 0% unless I drive a mile from the house down into the lower parts of lake. I'm switching to Verizon.

Just purchased Droid Incredible. Reception most everywhere is good, except no cell signal at my home. I pay for cell service to include my home, but am not receiving the service. I will call Verizon and see what they can suggest. I do not feel that I should have to pay extra (i.e booster) for service that I am already paying for.

Verizon is the only carrier that consistently carries in northwest Altadena. My hubby has AT&T because he has an IPhone I refused to get the Iphone because I dislike the coverage. My Droid (which I love) gets reception, though there are times when coverage drops in parts of the house. But it is the only carrier that consistently can pick up a signal in most of Altadena. That being said, there are dead zones along Altadena Drive, especially west of Lake.

95% of the time no reception at all. 5% of the time, phone will ring, but signal not strong enough to handle a phone call.

Lucky to go 5 or ten seconds before call drops. The Phone almost never picks up incoming calls. Useless - North of Altadena Drive. Just bought Verizon Network Extender - for a trial run. Will check back with an update.

i literally have to drive half way to the 210 if I want to have any coverage.

we have 4 phones within our family. Its hit or miss when we can receive or send calls. It really sucks, but it may be the best we can do anyway

Very good reception from Verizon here in Altadena, CA, which is the main reason I will not buy an Iphone GS. I will wait until Verizon offers one (or a Palm Pre), however long that may be. If you can't get reception, what good is having a cool phone?

Have to walk outside of the house towards the street, find a decent reception spot near the curb, face a particular way, cough twice, then hope the line doesn't drop. Bottomline, POOR reception.

I can call inside my house where it use to be a dead spot with AT&T. Go Verizon!
