	After years of only receiving a basic signal, the last few days the city of Alturas has received 3g capability from AT&T. The only problem so far, 3.5g internet works in spurts, and data coverage drops quickly. The coverage is still very limited in the area, but expanding. The city of Alturas does receive basic services, call coverage and texting / mms, but 3g is still spotty. If you travel towards Klamath Falls you will be without service a little ways out of town until the town of Newell. If going East through Cedarville, don't expect coverage until Reno. If going south, coverage will pick back up in Susanville. If going north, you won't have coverage until Lakeview. Verizon has had 3g coverage for quite some time now, and you will receive signal on all of the outroads of Alturas. Verizon is the superior service in this area, but AT&T seems to be adding capability.

	Very good 3g coverage, very good data and voice. You do get a signal on the outskirts, but lose the faster internet the further you travel. By far, Verizon has the best coverage in this area.

	Verizon sucks out at Cal Pines, it keeps switching towers and hopping around. Disconnects all the time, no EVDO, it blows, stay away, they are not upgrading until 2008 if ever.
