Excellent Reception. I had Verizon and switched Jan. or 2006 and Verizon barely came in here. So I'm pretty happy.

I get excellent reception generally 5 bars, 4, rarely 3, in my house. Outside along soquel (walking to safeway for instance) I have a steady 4. I have excellent reception pretty much everywhere I go, although around encinal (industrial corner of SC) I have so so to poor reception (but not on the trails of Harvy West Park). In the suburbs up hill off of Soquel about 1.5 miles west of Cabrillo I have poor reception indoors at a coworkers (cant recall street.), but solid outside.

Good reception at and around Cabrillo College, average to below average outside. Poor if you're anywhere near the tall trees, which is pretty much all of Aptos.

Not bad reception inside of house. Sister has an iPhone (AT&T) and consistantly states "you get no service up here". Must be OK on Verizon

Average to Perfect connection. Att / Cingular has put a repeater in at Sescape Village. (Seascape and Sumner) Since then... My father has perfect reception (ATT / Cingular) I have NONE! (Verizon) If you have an all digital Verizon phone, you cannot access the Analog tower in La Selva Beach

Reception is hit or miss depending upon what side of the road one is on, part of the house and the cellphone. Cingular doesn't work at all. Best bet is to get a good phone and a cell phone repeater for the house that costs about $250. I get 1 to 3 bars out of 5 depending upon where I'm at. Plus get dropped calls at least 3 times a week. Verizon works in most of Santa Cruz county. Cingular works well at UCSC and Cabrillo. Verizon at Cabrillo College, hit or miss at UCSC.

Get okay reception if I stand on the edge of the back porch... unless I move my head (or blink). I finally bought a Land Line just so that I could receive calls at home. I'm leaning toward T-Mobile when my ATT contract expires in January.

Poor to none on coverage even though the coverage map shows acceptable coverage in this area. I have to go a half mile to Vista Del Mar to get reliable service. Once on the road away from Aptos the system seems to work fine.

I'm with ATT, and it seems as though everyone is on a call but me. I think a part of it may be the quality of my phone. I'm going to Verizon for a 30 day trial, I'll also be getting the new LG Voyager when its released on Nov 21. I'll post again. Also I live off Seacliff and I get okay quality, as soon as get into the house - ZERO reception, however I can usually text.

Cannot use the cell with ATT wireless. While ATT lists good service for the area, it is worthless.

Cell service up Cathedral and Redwood Dr.just plain old sucks. Probably because of the mountains and high trees. I can get reception in one corner of the house if I am absolutely still. Sometimes I get a better signal outside on the deck but that's only if the planets are aligned. Am thinking about trying Cingular because I want a data plan that doesn't cost a fortune, but I don't think reception will be any better.

Horrible reception. No service in the Aptos hills.

I cannot phone out. I will receive but cannot answer. Relatively no reception strength.

Very spotty reception in Aptos area with the V551

Almost all calls switch to analog. Phone will display [D] digital then switch to analog. I have to power cycle phone to regain digital signal. Frequent problems with dropped calls. Sometimes my analog call conversations get mixed with different calls. Receiption near Rio Del Mar Blvd is dood.

I might get 1 bar in the corner of my room tucked away on a window sill and 1 or two out at the very end of my yard (if i'm lucky). Not a normal or reliant way to keep in contact.

A very sketchy reception area from Soquel Drive / Rio Del Mar Blvd to Ocean & South to La Selva & North 1/2 mile on Hwy 1, antenna appears to be below tree line and surrounded by tall Redwood trees and hillside. Neighbors against new antenna to increase coverage as of this date.

I just bought a house 1 mile up Cathedral Dr. and was dissappointed that my Cingular service got no reception on the hilly, tree heavy property. I've been very happy with service elsewhere, but this part of Cathedral is a dead zone.

If you have an all digital Verizon phone, you cannot access the Analog tower in La Selva Beach If you have a digital phone, you might have better service. If you have a digital phone with an extendable antennae, you will have even better service.
