I have had every carrier available and the only one that works with continued reliability is Cellular One. I use my phone both at Lopez Lake and Lake Nacimiento - which none of my friends can do with AT&T, Verizon, or Team Mobile. The only draw back is their extremely small selection of phones and plans. But I'll stick with them because in my area no other carrier can compare.

Fantastic coverage in San Luis Obispo County, and it only gets better... always update your phone with *228.

Cellular-One said they had the most towers in SLO Co. That was four years ago. I get excellent reception just about everywhere in the county except a few miles of Corbett Canyon's northern end near 227.

Reception at my house on the Arroyo Grande mesa is usable, but not great with Verizon. Coverage elsewhere around the county is pretty good.

At one point Cellular One of San Luis Obispo was the king of wireless in the county now they have fallen to the back of the pack. Though they cover areas such as Lopez lake the overall network as suffered from a major degradation in reception and call quality. Even in highly traveled areas such as Grand Ave you now find major amounts of dropped calls and loss of signal that never before existed. At first based on past experience I thought it was my equipment but after trying 3 different phone models it is safe to say it is the network. Also customer service has gone from excellent to poor and you can only talk to some one from 9 to 6 and they have closed every store except their main location in downtown SLO. This company shows signs of major trouble and would be worth steering clear of.

It seems to be getting better but very slowly. Calls sometimes go through but not every time. Going outside helps a bit but it is still pathetic.

Barely usable. If I'm lucky calls only cut out for a few seconds, more likely they'll just drop out completely.

Our company gave us AT&T phones to use in this area, but there's no reception at my house on the mesa in Arroyo Grande. Reception is pretty spotty elsewhere.
