The T721 is a pretty cool phone. I can't say the same thing for AT&T. So far GSM is not to my liking... I've had the phone and new service for 5 days. I've made 3 phone calls. Of those, one suffered so bad from signal loss that I couldn't hear most of what was said. On the other two calls, I got disconnected both times. Pretty high failure rate so far. I can't say what GSM service is like in Yuba City, but as for Beale, it's not impressive. I get usually 1 or 2 bars in my house and around the base. Very often the phone display reads "no service". Signal strength tends to fluctuate alot for apparently no reason. Even when sitting motionless. What's up with that? I see why people on this website are slamming AT&T so much, their service quality is pissing us off! One time I glanced at my phone and thought I saw 3 bars lit up. whoa! I got all excited and flipped it open to get a better look, but it was gone. Perhaps I just imagined it. I've only had the service a week, but I'm almost willing to eat the cost of breaking the contract, and give Sprint a try. I have friends who say Sprint is excellent in this area. But if GSM is the new thing, and is on the upswing, maybe I should hold out for a bit and see what happens? Things couldn't get much worse. (as witnessed by 2 or 3 thousand friends on this sight) They can only get better.

T-mobile has poor reception out at the base. Using my work ATT phone, never any problems. Occasionally we even get phone calls on the ATT phone inside bldg 1025. Never happens with T-mobile. Get what you pay for.

Most calls dropped. Don't even get text or voicemail notifications. Only place in the country I've had problems with Verizon.

Absolutely no reception with TMobile. At all. Nothing. Went from great signal everywhere I went to none when I PCSed to Beale. Switching providers.

The worst reception I've ever gotten. There is no reception on base at all. Its terrible for emergencies. Don't even think of getting TMobile if you live in housing.
