The problem with Berkeley is not the carriers, they dont want to sell poor performance. The problem with Berkley Hills is that the city and its residents have been fighting the carriers for years and do not allow any new towers. From my experience Verizon is the only carrier with any type of decent coverage. Was this review helpful to you?
Absolutely terrible inside Stern Hall - some dropped calls, bad quality when it does go through, very inconsistent signal. Seems to work fine in some areas of UC Berkeley's campus, though (downtown, on Telegraph, etc.)Was this review helpful to you?
Verizon service in downtown Berkeley is terrible. I'm often in Civic Center Park for lunch, and my 3G iPhone on Verizon usually only gets 2-3 bars, and sometimes, like today. it goes to 1x (analog? seriously?) WTF is wrong with coverage form ALL the carriers in Berkeley? Totally ridiculous! Was this review helpful to you?
Calls made from I phone is being dropped constantly. Internet signal is dropped daily. This Ashby corridor is considered the dead zone. by AT&T customer service. Tried AT&T cell tower and no result. Just as dead as ever. The only solution in this zone is land line. I often see people sitting on the curb outside of their houses to make calls with their cell phones. Was this review helpful to you?
T-Mobile has 0-2 bars, usually one. Calls dropped after 2-5 minutes. Wondering how they can sell service which they cannot actually provide. Looks like all the carriers do the same. Learned that they have one coverage map for the public, another for themselves; the latter actually indicates the lack of service in Berkeley. It helps to consider how ethical, scrupulous and upright the builders of the railroads and later the highway systems were, if only to keep the behavior of these businesses in context. Also, to keep in mind that the customer service employees are not the actual source of the consumer betrayal. Was this review helpful to you?
In the past six months, Sprint telephone service has deteriorated. Almost all calls are dropped. I now rely on my land line when making calls from home. Was this review helpful to you?
UNBELIEVABLE. sitting here in the tech center of the country and I can't make a f*ing phone call?!?! i curse the day I switched from AT&T to Sprint. I only switched because I eventually wanted to use Ting and because of the "UNLIMITED DATA" HAHAHAHAHA well, what use is data if you get no data anywhere (you have to use wifi most of the time). i've been ABSOLUTELY stranded when i've left home expecting to be able to check info mobile, then was unable to make appointments on time because my phone absolutely refused to give up the info. i've started writing everything down again, just in case... so then, why am I paying to use paper and pen? It does work in many places, and luckily some places I frequent, but good luck in oakland anywhere. I can't make phone calls from my home!... so for that I give it no stars. no calls, no stars. f*ck you sprint. Was this review helpful to you?
For over 3 months now we are experiencing dropped calls, often low bars, garbled communications. We end up using our land line 50% of time. I asked for and got a $30 discount on our last bill this time I am asking for 1 / 2 off. The only thing that works is messaging. We would change if we didn't have 1 year to go on our phonesWas this review helpful to you?
Little to no reception here. Rather disappointing seeing that this is a large metropolitan area. Was this review helpful to you?
People call me and my phone does not ring; I try calling others and can't get thru. I might as well not have a phone at all. I upgraded my phone with Sprint, thinking maybe it was a hardware issue, but the new phone had just as much trouble. Will probably break my contract it is so terrible. Was this review helpful to you?
