I'm at the east end of Bear Valley right up against the SB National Forest. I get very reliable Sprint service--dropped calls are very rare. My guests with other carriers usually end up having to use my Sprint phone.

I always had at least 2 bars 3 on several occasions. Calls were crisp, texts were on time and my 3G internet ran great! I stayed at a cabin up on moonridge but even at the lake / town it was great. I'm on virgin Mobile which runs on the Sprint network.

the Verizon reception in big bear was very good considering it was in the mountains, they have a Verizon Wireless cell tower in the village mall center which is midway high of the mountain, this gives coverage all over. my typical signal outdoors was 4-5 bars with 5 bars EVDO, and my typical indoor signal was 2-4 bars. through out the highway and my entire trip, my signal was good all around Big Bear Lake, but I do recall in the desert I lost my coverage for about a minute, but it came back strong.

Gotta call it poor, leaning towards none. I have to say that my AT&T reception in Big Bear has gone from bad to worse. I had a Treo 650 with EarthLink(Sprint) before and it was fine. I even recall the iPhone with AT&T getting better reception here a year ago. Now, I'm lucky to get a single bar. The majority of the time, if the phone is sitting on a table and gets a text msg, when I pick it up to try to reply, it switches to no service. When I first brought it up here, I was able to surf the web over Edge with it... now... I can barely use it at all. My best bet for using AT&T in Big Bear seems to be on a boat in the middle of the lake. All this, and I can see the airport beacon / cell tower behind Big Bear HS from my deck, a whopping couple hundred yards away! Guess AT&T doesn't have a transceiver there?

I get not reception anywhere in Sugarloaf and no reception anywhere in Moonridge. Calls drop at Big Bear Blvd.and where the PAC is. It drops on Big Bear Blvd.just west of Summit. I get no reception on either Bear Mountain or Summit. It is horrible. I have to wait for contract to end to cancel.
