I had Cingular for over 2 years now because it was the only service that worked on base at the time. My carrier has switched to what is now called AT&T and the tower here on base is always having a system meltdown or something. I would go days without being able to use my phone on base when that happens. I live in the barracks so I am not a happy customer. How about raising the freaking bar AT&T?! I used my headmates T-Mobile phone with perfect reception while I have to tilt my phone on the window to receive text messages 20 minutes after they've sent it. When I called customer service all they had to say to me was "We've been getting calls all day about this. You're not the only one. It's part of life. Things happen." Like that makes me feel a lot better! Then he goes on saying "Well in the mean time you can go onto our website and learn more about what you can do with your phone." That's when I hung up. What's the point of learning about a freaking phone I can't use!

everywhere I go in general I get excellent reception / bars only get cruddy reception when deep inside a concrete building. I believe the hospital being the only one.

I receive a great reception from Sprint all over the Base except throughout Pulgas. Somedays I get one or two bars "outside only". I was suprised to find good service inside the Commisary, Hospital, and other buildings with lots of electronic devices. I even have the Novatel Broadband card for my laptop and sometimes it has more bars than my cellphone all over the Base!

Sprint works great in most of this area, but is a bit week around the Stuart Mesa area and you get a very weak signal when inside the houses.. The other areas that are affected are PULGAS with no reception and HORNO, SOI and the Staff Academy areas that also have no reception at all.. The areas with Great reception at 3 to 5 bars are Margarita, Wire Mountain, the Main commisary by the main gate, all over the back gate and the housing area, the flight line by cash sales and even at the Wilcox Range you get 4 to 5 bars.. Sprint would be perfect if they place 2 towers in some key areas to provide service on the no reception area mention before..

Living in the barracks in the 24 area, I had no reception whatsoever. I would have to walk down away from my barracks down to the chow hall and I woud get 2-4 bars, I have never seen 5 bars ever unless I left Camp pendleton.

Its had for my cell phone to get recipition outside and get dont get any bars inside the buiding

back through 2006, I didnt get any service at all at where I was at through t-mobile. in late 06, they put up a few new towers throughout base, and now I get almost perfect reception in Horno, and just about everywhere I go on base.

Verizon put in a new tower back in early 2007 near the hospital. I have recieved excellent reception all over base.

I can't get a signal at all at or around the air station unless I walk all the way up to the top of one of these big hills and stand at the top. Two bars at mainside and I havent been many other places on this base. They need a new freaking tower somewhere because everyone else (cingular, t-mobile, and sprint) all get some service here and I have to keep borrowing phones.

ATT has exclusive rights for signal coverage on this base (which now is part of Cingular).
