Indoors no reception unless upstairs at NW most point in house. Outdoors 1 or 2 bars with alot of dropped calls. Called T-Mobile about connection issues and was told they knew of no issues in my area and no additional towers were planned in the future... .. T-Mobile customer relations has always been outstanding but if the phone will not connect whats the use?!?

Upstairs the reception may loose calls if I walk around the house. Downstairs, I get one or two bars but I am still able to make / receive calls. Other places in Santa Barbara Verizon is Perfect. I will stay with Verizon because it is perfect most places.

Service only works indoors if you stand at a south facing window, sometimes leaning out of the window. Service will not work if I go outside on the north part of the property or the north part of the house including windows. South / SW of my house is the Pacific Ocean, North / NE are the mountains. I would think the mountains is where they put antanas. I see them to the south east on Rincon Mountain. Maybe there is one on the Channel Islands? Anyway, I'm getting rid of At&T as soon as the contract expires this December 2004.

I used to be with Verizon and had very few problems with reception anywhere in the USA. I switched to T-Mobile because I wanted a bluetooth capable phone which Verizon does not currently offer. Reception is poor in many areas even though I live in a popular area along the cost (I live iin the the 90 mile stretch of coast between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara) Maybe the phone is part of the problem? It has no antenna at all. I asseume a phone with even a small antenna would help. Compare the national coverage maps of Verizon and T-Mobile and you can understand what the problem is. I can't make any calls from my home, the phone has no service for about a 1/2 mile.

I have perfect reception even in my house both downstairs or upstairs. When I talk to people using a land line it is crystal clear and they cant even tell I am on a cellphone. only been using this phone for a week FYI.
