I was told this area is a "dead" zone for AT&T service. They replaced my Cingular upgrade several years ago with this model Samsung - supposidly a stronger reciever. There was no change in service. I rarely get more than 1 bar, which quickly goes to 0 bars. Calls are dropped regularly. Last week I was told to replace my simm card - I still had a Cingular card. This did not change anything. I was also told that AT&T is dropping 2G coverage - phasing it out gradually. I am on monthly service now, looking for better coverage. I believe that getting a new AT&T phone will not change the coverage. The proposed tower on Plummer between Winnetka and Oso never was approved. The neighboring tract residents across the street probably disapproved of the site. I am within 500 feet of that site. The West Valley needs better service soon.

I was about to change my carrier or my phone until I found out many others in the area were also getting poor reception.

The residential area surrounding Germain Elemetary School has very poor reception with T-Mobile, usually 1-2 bars out of 5. Sprint had much better service in this area.

If you live in or around Chatsworth - Lake Manor between Plummer / Roscoe and around the reservoir, Verizon is 1 to 2 bars in spots and 0 bars around most homes. I was on Sprint and never had a connection drop. My whole family (around the country) switched to Verizon and I went with them. I'm going to try the LG VX6000 or VX4600 because I heard its the best for poor reception areas. But, I still have my Sprint account and unless the LG phones are better, I will end up cancelling the Verizon.
