spent three weeks trying to get customer service help with no results. Spoke to numerous individuals with no idea of cell phone problems. Many hanging up if I did not provide my top secret id number loudly enough for the world to hear and after many minutes of poor or no reception they hung up on me saying they could not hear me, I was cutting out, never to return my calls. I bought and paid for three android phones for my move here, the first being a factorty reject at 500.00 to be replaced by metro by a used phone. The 3rd phone is also an android but also gets no coverage.

USC is the only carrier for Mendo / Lake counties You will have some issues traveling through the vallies, but unless you have a sat phone, nothing will help you there. If you like in these counties, you have no other choice... USC. Been a customer for a while, no issues yet.

Very Good reception Lake / Mendo County.TDMA. Drop Calls in deep narrow valley ravine areas only- 1 / 4mile east -RussianRiver / Lake Mendo Bridge, 1mile east of BottleRock / 29, 1mile east of BlueLake on 20,1mile west Robinson Creek / Boonville Road. No drop calls with wired headset! FM reception on phone is basically 105.9 when not in a flat area. I tried (and returned) lotsa phones and different carriers. Tri-mode phone with analog capable has worked best for me in Lake-Mendo. This phone and service works where expensive all digital system / phone won / t.

U.S. Cellular works OK overall in Lake County. Was using Cingular with spotty to 'no service' results for about 3 years, but finally got tired of pulling out my hair. Discovered the County was using U.S. Cellular with few problems, so I switched. Yes, there are poor spots, but Lake County has many terrian issues. FYI, for those not familiar with Lake County's terrian, check it out on Google Earth. Lastly, To have excellent service here like the Bay Area will never happen due to the terrain.

Will go with any other company when contract expires. Like my Razor though, haven't had such a smooth shaving since I was pick-pocketed.
