I used to have AT&T wireless, now that Cingular provides coverage it has gone from marginal to crappy. I was on the TDMA system and with a plug in external antenna I could talk most of the way up Hwy. 45 from Colusa. I was finally forced to switch to Cingular GSM because I couldn't get another TDMA phone to replace my dying one. Reception is crap. I got dropped four times driving from Colusa to Ord Bend, and this was with my external antenna on the roof of my car -- with my TDMA phone I could leave the antenna sitting on my dashboard inside my car and not get dropped. I have 30 days to take my phone back and be put back on the TDMA system, but what am I going to do about a new phone? And with Cingular slowly cutting out the TDMA system, my coverage is only going to get worse. Trouble is, I think Cingular sucks the least of them all. I called them asking them how they plan to deal with this and their reply was "Well, your contract is up in October." Great customer service answer!
