AT&T
In October 2011, ATT indicated a new cell tower would be set up near The Forum in Cupertino where reception is terrible. In nearly 18 months the tower is not up and no reason is being given. I contacted ATT, they indicated the tower was going up in May 2013, then they hit another delay.

Since the new ATT cell tower went in, ATT reception has gone from pathetic, to fantastic.

95% of the time, can't call out or receive call. Have to go outside of the house to make a call. Use call forwarding to the house phone to get incoming cell phone call.

AT and T recently txt me about improvement in reception from new cell tower installed. Calls received and made are clear now. Even have reception inside the house for the first time since moving here 6 years ago. Just time since we're about to switch to Verizon. Wonder if new cell tower is new touted LTE 4G.

Sig strength sucks at best, must walk around to find the strongest signal each time I want to use cell. The same story outside the house. Phones are fairly new, oldest of 4 is 1 year.

It is so pathetic reception. Sometimes I get 1or 2 bars with difficulty and all other times no reception at all. To unable to bear this, I have opted to switch to Verizon and I took my work phone connection with Verizon. But I a still stuck with AT& for my family connection. Shame on you AT&T!. I have called Customer service multiple times. In my apt complex none of the AT&T phones receive or place calls. We don't even know of missed calls until next time we are out of our house and on the road. I see this forum with lots of people complaining about the coverage with AT&T in this area. How about a petition or even suing AT&T for the losses. For example - I have been using AT&T for more than 3 years just because of iphone.

Sprint
got sick and tired of AT&T, moved to Sprint and never dropped a call. This is the best cell service I got in Monta Vista areas. My wife go Verizon and it works best also.

Amazing that in the heart of Silicon Valley no coverage within a mile radius... ETA of Jun 28,11 for new tower come and long gone.. ATT cusstomer service says even without new tower reception should be good... Amazing that this has been reported for years and nothing has been done abt it.. Keep saying they are almost ready with a new tower... Have heard that for a few years now! Not sure if that will make any difference. Many folks in the neighbourhood are with Verizon if they need coverage when at home. Ironic thing is that I saw an AT&T technitian struggling to connect with his office using his cell phone while working in the area :-)

AT&T
There is virtually no coverage in this entire area encompassing the three major schools (Monta Vista, Kennedy, Lincoln). AT&T has a tower approved and they continually say it will be online by June 28. I have checked with them continually and they stick to that date. I didn't see the tower built yet, but they claim it's still on track!

The quality of service in cupertino is a testament to how much AT&T sucks. Cupertino is Apple's headquarters and the service still SUCKS.

Here in the heart of Silicon Valley, only miles from Apple's world headquarters, and the reception is poor at best. Right now, I have no reception at all.

Got my connection moved from AT&T ( which was giving 1 bar..) to VZ, Now I see *zero* bars inside the house. Outside house it goes to 1 bar. was on the call with tech for 30 min and he suggested to return the phone as coverage in this area is very bad. It won't change until 2013... So still.. shopping for better service..

T-Mobile works in my house, not in anyone else's, and it sucks at Monta Vista and basically anywhere else.

Dropped calls all the time. It goes from one bar to none. I called customer support and had to wait a long time. Had the service rep tell me to talk near the window or go outside. Apparently they didn't take my call seriously so I dropped them. I went to Verizon and have the Droid and I am much happier. I have between one and two bars now but no dropped calls.

ATT is horrible. I am suffering daily using ATT, thinking to switch over to Sprint or Verizon. Why ATT is not working to fix reception issue in spite of so many people suffering because of poor signal

AT&T
Many times calls go directly to voicemail without my phone even ringing. Standing outside or right next to the window usually increases by 1 or 2 bars, but 5 bars seems to be totally impossible. Callers are constantly asking me to repeat myself.

I used to face lots of problem with T-Mobile in Chicago. I would not get even a single bar at home. Had to step out or keep the phone by the window in order to get voice mails as well. But ever since i' full ve moved to this area, its flawless so far. I get even when i'm in office, driving, or at home. Dont have to step outside no more to talk to ppl. PS: Voice cracks sometimes.

Now I have Verizon and the reception is best. I have tried both AT&T and T-Mobile and they were not good. T-Mobile was horrible, the phone wouldn't even ring.

AT&T in Dec 2007 decided not to add a western hills tower, as their user map doesn't have enough phone lines to justify the costs. In this area of Cupertino recommend Verizon... 5 bars.

I always get 5 bars in bay area. Unlike at&t, T-Mobile had only one bar. I am so happy with my current at&t's service.

Have been trying to use this phone in this location for almost a year now. Signal is relatively better outdoors than indoors. Verizon Wireless should put a new cell tower in this area to improve reception for its customers.

Reception is average to good in the north end of the neighborhood (Sycamore Drive / Black Oak Way) but becomes poor / non-existent along Oak Valley Dr.and Cristo Rey through the round about.

Poor reception indoors and out. BUT, drive or walk 1 block in most directions and it improves significantly.

AT&T
As I read these reviews, I realized that for whatever reason, people are completely bashing Cingular but I haven't had any problems for the last 1.5 years. The ONLY place I have problems are on the Monta Vista HS campus (and only during school hours oddly enough) and Pierce Rd (close to Foothill). I get at most 2 bars in the previous two locations, but I had either 4 or 5 bars everywhere else.

My husband and I replace home phone all together with our cell phones. Once in a long while we may have a drop call or two but rock solid connection otherwise.

Most times No Service. When I do get reception I get 1 - 2 Bars My wifes Nokia seems to work better than the Motorola. Better sensitivity?

Verizon
No reception inside HP office building. 0-1 bars ouside while driving on Homestead Rd between Tantau and Lawrence Expressway. My HP coworkers all report similar problems with Verizion in this area. I have called Verizon three times on this issue - they insist there is not a coverage problem. Don't expect situation to change.

I love Verizon's service, BUT I just moved into my husband's house and my reception is horrible inside the house. He gets great reception Cingular service (too bad I hate Cingular). I have very few problems anywhere else.

AT&T Wireless (GSM)
Often had calls drop or no service at all. Most times it was on roaming. AT&T went downhill after buying Cingular. The calls dropped a lot more often, they started overbilling.45 per minute instead of.35 per minute per my contract and they started charges after 900 minutes when my contract had 1300 minutes on it. It became a monthly battle to go through my bill and call them to correct it. They usually corrected their mistakes but I got tired of having to scrutinize the bill each month so I was forced to move to Sprint.

Sprint
1 to 2 bars with Sprint often dropping calls. Tried 2 different Sprint phones and had same problem. AT&T had a little better service here but they can't seem to get they really deteriorated after the Cingular merger. Sprint office looked up this area and it's in a yellow zone with 25% drop rate. I don't think any phone could work well here. Sprint reps were great and give me great service so I'm going to stick it out hoping they'll fix the area coverage.

T-Mobile
Gotta agree with all of the comments made about how poor T-Mobile's coverage is in Cupertino area. This problem seems to have lasted for the past year and have not improved, very disappointing. I wonder if anybody is with Nextel and knows how its coverage is in this area.

Zero bars. Nada. No communication. SMS seems to work. Data or voice is inoperable in Cupertino.

Zero reception currently inside or outside of buildings on Hewlett Packard's campus on Pruneridge Ave. off Wolfe Rd. I used to get one bar outside, but no longer. AT&T users get reception good reception both inside and outside.

AT&T Wireless (GSM)
I took the advice from the AT&T agent and got a Sony Ericsson T62U multiband phone (both GSM and TDMA) to try out. It performed worse than the old Nokia 3360. There is virtually no signal and the phone showed it was "Roam" on someone else's network all the time. So I took the phone back to AT&T store. Guess what, the AT&T store told me that they can take the phone back but I have to call AT&T to cancel the account myself. When I did, I had to wait for 40 minutes before I get to talk to a life person. So I am parting my 10 years relationship with AT&T.

AT&T Wireless (TDMA)
I have been a customer of AT&T Wireless for nearly 10 years. Their service seems to be deteriorate year after year. I no long can receive strong enough signal to make a call except in the upstair room next to a big window now. Their customer care agent told me that's probably due to the fact that they are converting some of ther TDMA towers to GSM thus don't have enough coverage for TDMA users. He urgeed me to switch to their new GSM phones.

AT&T Wireless (GSM)
I've had AT&T's GSM service for a little over a year and my reception seems to be getting worse. I can't even use my phone at home anymore, whereas I used to be able to at least use it when I was upstairs, near a window.
