Considering I live on top of a hill with commanding views of the city, I am shocked by the poor reception on the VZW network. Oddly it's data that suffers the worst up here. It's not uncommon for me to have 4-5 bars, but only 1x and no 3G. What gives? What truly hurts is that I can see a Nextel site 500ft from my window.

Daly City is filled with dead zones, especially with GSM phones. I switched to Verizon with hopes to actually eliminate my chances of running into dead zones, and CDMA coverage in the U.S. is far superior than GSM for now. But Daly City seems to be a cell phone dead zone overall.

Highway 280 South from Daly City to junction en ro, Daly City, CA 94015 |

On Highway 280 South, heading towards the junction in San Bruno to get to 101 South, you almost ALWAYS drop calls. Whether it be GSM, CDMA or TDMA. Daly City area is a terrible digital area.
