Nothing new here-same story about good coverage from AT&T in my area, but it sucks big time. I'll be looking else where.

Indoors, 0 to 3 bars, mostly 0. Outside, very spotty reception around the neighborhood. AT&T claims this address is in an excellent reception area, but in the last 5 years (as of March 2011) there has been terrible reception in the area. Many cell phone users go outside to make calls. The AT&T tech who was here yesterday uses Verizon, and his reception was terrible in the house, also.

Usually hovers around 5 bars when I'm in my apartment and occasionally drops to 4 bars. Relatively good signal with very few dropped calls. Great overall coverage.

T-mobile works great around campus and around the Davis. A few years ago, the signal would not reach inside buildings on campus, but now it does sometimes (not in the ones with the thickest walls). Works in downtown Sacramento, Country Fair mall in Woodland, and West Sac by the 42 bus line.

Sometimes only one or two bars, but good reliable emal, text and voice inside a woodframe structure. Somewhat better outside of house on the south side of the structure. Reception is good, but "bars" are below average... is it the phone that makes the difference?

Drops call every time as intersection is approached

Absolutely terrible coverage in Davis. Consistent 1 bar almost everywhere I go and I have to stand in the corner of my room by the window to make a call, which still often drops. I have yet to get above 3 bars walking around UC Davis. I highly suggest switching to another plan if you get accepted to UCD.

Since the tower was put in on campus there are few places I can go where my phone will not work. Great coverage.

The EMI from my computers will prevent me from getting a call every now and then, but for the most part works great most everywhere I go (until I get anywhere NEAR Winters). Oh, and by the way, does NOT get reception in the large, old UCD buildings such as Wellman or Wickson. (But there is free WiFi most everywhere around the MU - "mooblenet")

Outside, coverage is spotty and sometimes every other word drops. Inside, I can barely hear a conversation due to interference or dropped words.

Just moved to North Davis, service is absolutely terrible.

Ok so here's the deal with T-Mobile. Coverage is non-existant inside most campus buildings. I could get enough bars in the Tercero dorms and Olson to make calls, though. However, as soon as you step outside campus (or just outside period) reception is excellent. In the UMall I get FIVE bars, and that's just across the street! So if you want to have service on campus INSIDE, T-Mobile will definitely not work, but pretty much everywhere else in Davis I get excellent service. (I live in North Davis and also get good coverage, hence my location)

ABSOLUTELY useless. The reception around Tercero dorms rendered my phone useless! What a drag since I'm on contract for what seems to be forever. I get 2-3 bars outside, 1-2 in the dorms, and nothing in lecture halls. It's terrible. Sprint, if you are reading this, please fix or build towers in the UC's vicinity.

Depends on which side of the house I'm at. Varies between 2 and 3 bars (out of 4). Used to be much worse last year.

Good reception, never had a dropped call anywhere. Does cut out at the 113 to I-80 E overpass, but that's the only place in davis where i've had porblems

Have to walk to second floor to send and recieve calls. No signal or one bar at best on first floor of house. Signal sporadic in this area. 2 blocks away I get 4 bars.

Being new in town, I chose T-Mobile primarily based on the comments on this website, which said that T-Mobile is consistently good in Davis. WRONG! Although service is very good where I live (5th and Pole Line), I cannot get reception either inside or outside anywhere on campus, while people I know with Cingular and Sprint get excellent reception even inside campus buildings. If you will spend a lot of time on campus, please think twice about T-Mobile.

Cell reception is mostly poor. I sometimes get a bar or two in my dorm, if I have my cell phone hooked up with the charger and near a my window I get three to four bars. But I usually get no reception in or around buildings around campus.
