I've tried Nextel (useless) and Verizon (almost as useless) here in 2004. Sprint is fairly reliable. On the way from 4th St. to I-5, there's one dead spot at the top of the hill where all calls are lost, but that's a minor issue. One note: Skytel pager service does not work on this side of the hill, but the Arch Wireless pagers do!

Works, but just barely. Frequent comment: "you sound like you're under water."

I used to have a few bars in my condo. Now, I get 0 to 2 bars and drops my calls or doesn't allow me to make any calls. I'm considering switching to possibly Verizon, not sure yet. Need to do more research. I also get a lot of "Service Unavailable" when trying to call out. Bad Service... It used to be better.

T-Mobile reception terrible throughout Del Mar. Del Mar does not allow cel phone towers in the town, so reception stinks throughout the town. Not very happy with T-Mobile - awful, spotty reception and awful customer service. I'm going to switch to Verizon soon. Can't be any worse!
