The service as you get several miles out from the towers is fairly poor. Not enough signal to run basic streaming of TV and the internet videos often pause also. The phone signal is usually 0-3 bars tops with some occasional up to 5 bars, but they never last long. I'm not sure what it is about this area that makes the signal so unreliable. Verizon and other companies should look into it. there's lots of wind mills and solar panels for power generation and high tension wires. Also high winds and hills. Perhaps all these factors could be looked at to improve the signal quality in the Desert cities. Most have weak signals all over these areas from white water out past indio. From palm springs to yucca valley. Maybe a few more towers would help, or higher ones? You would think with so many customers from all these desert cities they would improve service!

All I want is mobile data. I don't use AT&T for phone. AT&T sucks - 1 bar or less with between 0.5 and 1.5 MB up and down. Terrible - even though they say have 5G coverage - BS!

2 yrs ago, had great AT&T in same spot. Now outgoing to all areas is severely garbled - and incoming from Palm Springs is also garbled; very hard to understand (although not from out of state). “Contact” via app has generic statement: “signal strength problem 10 / 25 / 18, fixed by 10 / 26.” Maybe... but we’ve been here for 4 days, and nothing. I guess we’ll wait and see.

Another person described T-Mobile perfectly. You never have 4G even though your phone says it does. Always spinning. Always waiting and waiting for anything to load. Tells you you have no mobile service and to get one. The tower is only about 1 / 4 mile away. Doesn't work good at work either and there is WIFI. Always have worse service after I pay my bill (which they start reminding me about 3 weeks before it's due and the same bad service once your new month starts. Definately not keeping T-Mobile. Not unlimited. Pay for unlimited 4G but never get it.

I drive for uber and lyft Verizon generally never has had any problems in the coachella valley, there are a few dead spots but as a whole it is a good but expensive service.

It used to be ok.Now terrible. Zero bars mostly. They all seem to be BAD at this time. May 20,2017..will try the window booster.. I agree Verizon blood suckers. That's why we switches to T.Mobil.. Seems they are going down hill.

reception for hotspot is always very good, except that t-mobie throttles down reception so low on the plan with so called 'unlimited' binge on, that I can not even connect to T-Mobile to add data if I wanted to. sometimes they throttle down within a few days of the service month. their is no real 'unlimited' service with T-mobile. my republic wireless phone works well on cell and also work great when hot spot is on making calls on wifi.

The worst, how do I get out of this deal? I'm new to AT&T and the service is not good. I was with Verizon and never had this problem. I switched to upgrade my phone and save money. I actually pay about 50.00 more than I did with Verizon. Uhg!
