Signal strength continues to degrade over the last 18 months since I purchased the iPhone. About a year ago, I started with frequent drop calls; but now I cannot even get a signal to call out. The data plan is worse because I constantly get one bar or no bar (and the 3G logo seldom lights up). I guess it doesn't matter that I got an unlimited data plan. My next upgrade will definitely not with AT&T (and will sell all my "T" stocks soon). Whether it will be an iPhone, I may not sure.

Cell phone registers 4 bars of reception and has great sound quality. Recently changed from Verizon, which had horrible reception: crackly sound quality, calls constantly dropped. Loved Verizon in Northern California, but absolutely hate it here. Boyfriend has TMobile (Blackberry) and he has decent reception comparable to ATT.

My phone or my husband's or even friends visiting gets SOS / 0 signal. I hate ATT. Signal sucks inside my house. I have to go out towards Huntington to get at least 1 bar for signal. Friends who have Verizon seems to have no problem getting or making calls inside my house. Can't wait to end contract with ATT. Plan to switch to verizon.

We are going to switch carriers. AT&T / Cingular is horrible here. When you can't use your cell phone at home, it's really frustrating. Our next door neighbors just got Verizon and have no trouble at all, so we'll probably switch to Verizon.

for everyone that has Cingular and thinks it sucks, think again... . if you got your phone before summer 05', than it makes since, but go upgrade your sim card to the new 64k 3G sim card and you WILL NOT have any problems.
