I love Sprint and I have NO complaints! I have been with them for 10 years and looking to continue our friendship / business. AT&T was my choice prior to Sprint and I'm grateful all them dropped calls came when they did, cause our friendship / business ended then. I have been a happy camper ever since and I will SPRINT about it when I can.

I used to use Cingular and ATT. Sadly, they would lose signal in Calexico as soon as one drove by the border. Mexicali towers overwhelmed the signals. I would lose signal on I-8 beyond Holtville until I reached Yuma. I would lose signal on I-8 in the mountains on In-Koh-Pah Rd.till I got to Pine Valley! I would lose signal on the New River dips. I would lose signal west of the clover-leaf on I-8 before I hit Dogwood. Tons of dropped calls. I would lose signal inside the El Centro courthouse! I would have to go outdoors from my own house to make or receive a call! That is ridiculous. I asked several friends and a consensus was that Verizon had the best reception indoors and the best towers. I am so happy I got Verizon, but I plan to go Sprint or Credo as Verizon is a bit expensive and it kills my budget. Verizon seems to have one weak spot. As soon as one turns South by the Austin Rd.bridge on Hwy. 86 southwest of Brawley, I lose all signal and can't call. I doesn't come back till one approaches the sugar plant by Keystone(?). The weird thing is that if I am already on a call it does not get dropped!

Just want to let everyone know that cricket reception in El Centro, and Calexico,Ca,is very poor, besides can`t send or receive any text messages.which makes matters worse,so maybe I`ll go back to Boost mobile... they use Sprint towers and Sprint has better coverage in the imperial county... .

Switched from Sprint to AT&T for one reason, the iPhone. Love the phone, detest the coverage! The lack of coverage in the Imperial Valley as a whole is rediculous. Should you go south of I-8, cell coverage automatically switches to Movistar and you are slapped with international rates... even though calls are made / receieved some 35 miles from Mexico! Had it not been for the capabilities of my phone (VOIP), I would have switched sooner. Once my contract is up, I'm jumping ship to another carrier. Text messaging is just as poor, I'll get messages upto ten minutes or more after they have been sent. I use the "Mark the Spot" app from AT&T on a daily basis just so that they know how poor their coverage is at multiple areas in this region (as well as spotty reception in Monterey, CA) One funny thing though, if you go to the AT&T store at the IV mall, you all of a sudden have full bars and "3G" coverage. Just don't expect that coverage in the parking lot or 1 / 2 a block down the road!

I really don't get any reception inside my house. I may get 1-2 bars. I get another bar or 2 if I go outside. Barely enough reception to send text messages. Can't send emails, go online, or send picture messages. Reception is horrible.

5 Bars and 3G. Download speeds were really fast, was able to stream Netflix movies with high quality video and no lag at all. I was really impressed. Finally 3G! (Too bad I don't live in this area).

I bought my iPhone 3GS at Best Buy here in Imperial Valley last year and I recall having a decent signal in this area. Now it's a complete dead spot for me and I always get the 'No Service' notification. Funny that AT&T is setting up their new store right across from Best Buy in this dead zone. Hopefully this means good things for our coverage in the valley and that 3G is coming. If you are thinking about signing up for service with AT&T, DON'T. As of right now, July 2010 their service is abysmal here. Sprint just brought 3G coverage to this area so AT&T needs to get with the program or they will have NO mobile customers left in the Imperial Valley. I recommend an HTC Evo (Sprint) or a Droid Incredible (Verizon) if you are looking for a good smartphone with good reception.

AT&T is a big joke in our area. No signals South of I-8 in El Centro, California. Some one need to slap AT&T CEO.
