I have a personal and a work phone. This review is for the personal Motorola phone. Reception bar is slightly worse than Blackberry, but I think I get around the same amount of dropped call (every once in a long while) as the Blackberry. Overall, very happy with Verizon. Had AT&T before, and reception was simply horrible!

I have a personal and a work phone. Both are on Verizon. This review is for the work Blackberry model. Reception at home is pretty good majority of the time, with a drop call every once in a while.

I sign up with Nextel in the summer of 02 and the reception was great. Two years later I was bouncing from 0 to 5 bars, lost calls, you name it, it happens. I called to complain and received the usual BS " we are thinking of putting up a cell tower". My plan ends this month Jan-2010 and it's good riddance Nextel.

There is always reception up in the hills, there are some dropped called but very very RARE.

No reception everywhere east of Arlington. I specifically chose a phone that has Analog mode because it at least has spotty reception.

along arlington in the hills, reception with Cingular is marginally better than with sprint. Sprint was horrible, but I still can't have anything beyond very brief conversations on my cell with cingular, and data connection is constantly dropping and re-establishing.

Since Cingular and AT&T merged my signal hardly works. If I call back 3 or 4 times I usually get a better signal. The company says its a connectivity problem probably caused buy an over loaded cell tower. They will work on it when they have time

Reception is very bad. Voice is so unclear and call is always dropped abruptly. Totally unacceptable.

My reception is always full. Voice is so clear! I am very satisfied with T-Mobile reception.

very poor reception and service; T-Mobile will have you come back for "phone adjustments" until you are past the return period. phone works great skiing at Northstar and other Tahoe resorts. Just not home!

I've had Verizon for two years. I have OK reception at home but if a Bart passes near my house, the reception goes dead. In my office in Berkeley, I have no reception at all. I have to walk outside to get any signals. I used to have AT&T as my carrier and Nokia 5160 my phone. It seemed to work better in Berkeley office but worse at home in El Cerrito.

Absolutely no reception! Signed up with Nextel in May 2004 with great reception in this area. Few months later it went from perfect to no reception. Don't sign up with Nextel if you live in this area until they install new tower.

No signal in most places in the house. 50% time 1 bar in the upstairs room facing the street. It's been like this for the past 3 years. T-Mobile is not doing any improvement in the area.

I've had good luck with AT&T TDMA service for the last 3 years. But now they are pushing GSM and pretty much stopped improving/maintaining their TDMA network. Now I find weak spots more often.

For months now I have been enjoying great reception at my home. That was until today. Now its back to the same old thing. I can't use my phone at my house. This is very frustrating do to the fact that I am self employed and use my cell phone for my business. Is this just a one-time thing or did Cingular remove an antenna somewhere in my neighborhood?

In El Cerrito you can barely get a connection, then the call gets dropped. This is very frustrating.
