Rarely ever get more than one bar of signal in my house, and I've never seen any more than three bars in Escondido. So much for Verizon having "more reception", AT&T almost always has full signal wherever we travel.

Very rare to get a signal at my house. In fact, there are often several cars parked 2.5 miles away at the intersection of hwy 78 and Cloverdale Road, they are all Verizon users that know they are going to drop the call if they enter into rancho San Pasqual

I live in a gated community basically in the middle of nowhere off centre city parkway north of el norte parkway and I get awesome service! even in my area I get 5 bars. Once, I forgot my power cord up in LA and thought I'd run out of battery juice over the weekend. NOPE. my battery lasted 2 days (we know how battery drains when it's searching for service)

We bought these phones because we were having problems with dropped calls from other services and were told that Verizon was a great service with great reception. We have no reception at our home in Hidden Meadows and they say they won't let them put up an antenna there. Our son has Cingular and Nextel and has no problem with his reception. We will be changing services as soon as this contract is over!

Optimal reception from San Diego proper to L.A. with the exception being where I live. The No Signal (Searching...), dropped calls and consistent cutting in and out of "successful" calls (both incoming and outgoing) finally drove this two cell phone-only household to throw in the towel and get a land line. Now when I give out my cell number it's always with the caveat that if someone wants to reach me in the evening or on the weekend, try my land line first.
