I used to have great reception until I bought this new phone. I have three phone numbers on my plan using the same phone and all of us are not getting calls. The calls either go directly to voicemail, or we get our messages the next day. The phone doesn't even register a call was placed. Is it AT&T or the phone? Using a LAN line now calling warranty AGAIN to obtain a different phone.
I have THREE Motorola V360 phones. The reception on all three phones fluctuates between 0 bars and 1 bar inside the house. Almost impossible to use inside house (near Northridge Golf Course). Is it the phone's antenna? Poor tower placement? Both? I'm not impressed with my recent change to TMobile. My son goes to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and he gets 0 bars in his dorm room, one bar, if lucky on campus. He also has a Motorola V360 using TMobile.
I used to have Cingular and the service was crap! It would always drop the call on Hwy. 89 east bound near Greenback. Now I have had SPRINT for about 10 months and have not had a dropped call since! I also now have reception in my home and backyard. I drive a lot through the sac valley area for work and haven't had a problem with my Sprint phone yet!
Have to go to certain areas of the street to make calls. Does not work at all in the house of neigbors house. ATT / Cingular wont even acknowlege the problem
Sprint reception has been great in my apartment (Sungarden Apts), and in the general area East of Sacramento. I usually have at least 3 bars on my phone network-strength indicator (clear calls, no problems). I have never had a dropped call (unless my battery dies mid-call). I have great reception in my apartment (Sungarden) and in all the office buildings I've worked in, in Rancho Cordova on White Rock between Zinfandel and Sunrise. Occasionally, the speaker phone sound / reception is poor (echo or poor sound quality), but when this happens the voice quality and connection is fine when I switch from speaker to either using the phone as a handset, or plugging in the ear-bud. The speaker phone quality issue may be partly network and partly an issue with the cell phone, too? There's one spot in Folsom, at a friend's house, where I don't have good / consistent reception in their house, and have to go out to their driveway to make / receive calls. But that's the only "dead spot" I've found. I've heard from friends that Verizon also has good reception (confirmed by some of these reviews). Happy hunting / calling...
The service was never very good but has become worse over the last year. I live in Fair Oaks and I realize that the reception will be poor here, but what about everywhere else? I drive to Fresno and all round Sacramento and can almost always make a call but the quality is poor, often. I tried another phone, same model, same result. Now I am trying a Motorola Razr but I suspect it will be the same = the carrier!
