Was awful a year go (2010) but somewhat improved recently. Still drops my calls every time when I drive around our neighborhood, which is in the Mission Hills.

Very poor reception in this area for AT&T customers. Tried with several Motorola phones which have very good reception I other areas. I have no idea where the nearest cell towers are and would appreciate comments.

I was suckered in to buying the iPhone 3Gs for AT&T. The phone was awesome, but WOW was the service utter CRAP! I live in a two-story house in Fremont. On good days, I would have three bars inside, but as soon as I went downstairs, I couldn't make a phone call to save me. Eventually I've had enough of them! I went down to the AT&T store, waited for an hour just to get help, and told them my problem. The customer service woman (who was quite rude) told me that they have been working on improving their network in the Bay Area, and she asked me if I wanted to buy the Microcell which would increase my signal strength; I asked her how much it was going to cost, she told me that it was going to be $150 for the mini-tower. After about a minute of thinking about it, I told her I've had enough of AT&T and paid the Early Termination Fee. After paying it, I went down to the Verizon store and never looked back.

My phone does not get reception at all with this phone. It is very frustrating not being able to use my phone at home. I feel that AT&T has horrible service. I will be switching providers as soon as my contract is over.

No coverage at all in side the roof. I wonder why AT&T don't have tower in Alvarado - Niles.

EDGE and cellular service almost always drops somewhere between the toll booth and the high-rise.

Inside the house 3G does not work always but EDGE is ok.

At&t has the worst reception in South Fremont by far. My father comes over my house and uses his Nextel without any issues while I barely get reception and when I finally make / receive a call it drops while I'm on the phone. More like less bars in more places...

All along Paseo from Durham to Pine and all along Durham to Mission. AT&T is Pathetic

Indoor coverage is very poor. I switched to AT&T to get the iPhone.. bad move! Great Phone... terrible cell coverage. Lots of dropped calls indoors.

I get 4 bars from inside the house. Outside is is still only 4 bars.

Great coverage outside. Ok coverage indoors. Bluetooth reception drops a lot. Usually have about 3 bars.

Cingular GSM coverage is poor, and getting worse in the last 6 months (3-9 / 2006). Cingular has changed its name to AT&T. Oddly enough, TDMA coverage is good. I resisted switching from my AT&T TDMA phone until required by my employer. This neighbourhood has lots of mature trees, and there is a large FAA site nearby with microwave dishes (towers). Probably contributes to microwave interference.

We used to have better reception than we have now. lately I have started dropping calls, getting ecos when I talk. My voive mess. sometimes come 12 hours late... ??? I don't even have a spot outside that works well... .what is wrong?? Fremont is a large city and I would think the carriers would be able to inprove signal quality. Or is there just too much traffic for the systems... .we travel to the Reno area and what a pleasure it is there... .signal strengh is good just about everywhere, also when we travel I rarely have any problems at all... ..

i know Cingular has a bad reputation, but i've had good connections and good strong signals all over this area of fremont, as well as when I travel to the midwest and florida.

Reception jumps between 0 - 3 bars. Service has problems dialing intermittently. Once on the call, it seems okay. Just poor voice quality.

I get perfect reception with my Mpx220 (full bars) but my girlfriend's V180 has problems (1 or 2 bars).

Very poor reception. Can't use phone for calls to business due to poor reception. Too many breaks in the conversation. Calls to friends are ok because they tolerate the drop outs. This is the third phone I've used over the years with similar results.

I work and live on Gallaudet Dr. right by California school for the Deaf, and California School for the blind. Reception is poor on both Cingular (gsm) and ATT (gsm). I have to go right by thwindow to get a descent (1-2 bar) reception. with Nextel I had no problem.

I get one bar in my living room and dead in other places inside my home. signal improves little bit in patio (2 bars). and also one of the worst Customer serv, i have experienced. But I am stuck. I have to wait for contract to get over.

Average reception outdoors. Poor to below average indoors.
